  1. I use stock clutches and plates, they last about 2 years, and you dont get arm pump pulling the clutch.
  2. I 2nd that, You cant beat holeshot xcr for ground clearance and traction!!
  3. Ive noticed on stock pistons the pins are hard to get out, but aftermarkets slide right out.
  4. You can get the seal from vitos for about 4 bucks.
  5. Check your compression, if it is low you will have problems starting.
  6. Yes, did the 5,10,15 break in with cool downs between. Havent rechecked the head bolts yet. Also I have always checked the compression cold. The bike runs great, so that is not an issue. The gauge is showing the same reading 98 on both sides...
  7. Okay my buddy got his banshee bored to .060 over and now its at 98 psi. Originally with his .040 bore he got a standard 120 psi at 1200 ft, I personally checked the ring gap when we got the jugs back, was tight, had to dremal to get the 11 thousanths gap, all normal. Is my gauge wrong or is there something about boreing a jug I dont know about. This has never happened before when they have been done......
  8. Ditto, just order the wiseco crank with hot rods, welded , trued, lasts forever.
  9. Diddo here, the honda 85 wt. is cheap 5 bucks a quart, have been running it 4 years no problems.
  10. [Nobody every runs over a 30 pilot. The vito needle may help you, it makes it richer in the mid range.]
  11. [Dont go above 32:1, unless you like rebuilding crank assemblies.
  12. [Also check your compression, if you get low (about 15 psi below your fresh rebuild you will experience a lean condition) or missing. It may seem like a jet issue....]
  13. Okay I never noticed this before, but when you remove the needle and retainer there is a hole in the slide below. When you put the retainer back over the needle should this expose the hole or cover it up? Seems like open it would suck vacuum on the throttle cable.
  14. The 400 is a fun bike in the woods, shit my wife could ride it. If you get the shee its a learning curve to get good, but very few will outrun you, and you get like tons of respect. When you pull up to a new place everybody kinda gets quiet and checks your shit out...
  15. I raced the 450r last weekend along with a 400ex. Dusted them both by 4 lengths through 5th, with the 450r 2 lenghts ahead of the 400. I wasnt impressed....
  16. I run 90 % woods 10% drags with friends. What would lightening the flywheel do for me? Ive heard it could take away from low speed manuveres due to more engine stall (less mass to keep engine spinning).
  17. I run fmf fattys, good low end, and a decent top end for drag racing.
  18. [i purchased the stock puller from yamaha, and have used it at least8 times, no problem.]
  19. [Yea, unless you ride in the woods. Sometimes more is less.]
  20. [Had a buddy with a stocker for 7 years, still running same crank. My bike fully modified has been through 2 race cranks....]
