superbanshee03 Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Hey Guys, I just got my jugs back from getting ported and bored with new wiesco pro lights, Installed new V force reeds also. So when I was breaking it in I noticed the right pipe was hotter and smoking more than the left. I did a half throttle plug check to see if it was lean before a wot test to be safe. The left side color was good but the right was looking lean checked everything, carbs, air leak, wires. So I called the guy who ported it and he said I needed to run race fuel becouse I have 150 psi and it would be right. I was thinking the porting was bad for one cylinder to run different than the other. I was running about 160 to 165 psi before I had it ported on pump gas so I dont know what do any of you think ( sorry so long) Quote
RBD Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 I really don't think it is a porting problem, sounds to unlikely. The reason that your compression is a little lower is probably do to the exhaust ports being raised. Ron Quote
superbanshee03 Posted February 7, 2005 Author Report Posted February 7, 2005 Do you think I should run race fuel at 150psi? Quote
SuperChris Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Shouldn't need it. Swap plug wires to see if it's fire related. If not, start looking at the carb and reeds on the side not fireing. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 youd be wasting your money by using race fuel at 150 lbs. its a carb or air leak problem.. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Definitely no need for race gas, I'm at 165psi and run 93 octane pump gas. I would start by checking your intake boots for any cracks or holes, then move to the carb. One of your jets could have debris in it not allowing fuel to pass through Quote
RBD Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Also check and make sure the choke cross over tube is in place... Quote
superbanshee03 Posted February 8, 2005 Author Report Posted February 8, 2005 Thanks guys, I'll check all of those and maybe figure it out Quote
