Leadfoot350 Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 I basically gear my quad for glamis so that I can pull 5th up olds on the middle of it. The right side of olds will pull 4th. Usually when I get this down then duning is perfect but sometimes could use one tooth smaller on the rear for pulling long wheelies over the up and overs. Gearing is different for everone because of weight, tires, swing arm length, horse power. When I first bought my quad with just t-5's and some 20-10-10 10 paddles extreme haulers I rode with stock gearing and could only pull I think 3rd to 4th but forth would bog. I then put on a 13 up front and it helped out a lot but I really dont remember too well because that was like 5 years ago. Quote

andiefrogger Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 i run a 14/40 and i like it.... in the dunes it works good ... i beat a lot of fast banshee .. my buddys ran all 13/41 ... and i still pulled tons of holeshots up the hill... thats my 2cent not worth much Quote

So there gearing is just wearing the chain faster because of the smaller front sprocket.Nathan 315260[/snapback] That is not the same as stock. exclus Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Just make sure you run "Sidewinder" sprokets and chains. I've watched teeth fly off of renthal sprokets at the dunes. I'm also runnin 14-41 and it seems to hook very well... Quote

BigRed350x Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 I've never had any of those fancy sidewinder ones, I just run the little steel ones from RMATV and have never had any problems with them. A set of sprockets will last me about 3/4 of a year with normal riding. They are only $9 for front and $16 for rear. Quote

You get way more torque and can hit higher gears going up hills!!! Quote
