BLACKBANSHEE04 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Is the a way i can install a cooling fan on a banshee Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I have been thinking about this too because I have a 200w stator so I am sure that I can put a tiny fan that will pull air through the radiator. Quote

JARE77 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 The only time I could see you needing a fan is if you want to sit and watch it idle for a long period of time,or you are always just putt puttin around. Just isnt nessesary if everything is working properly and you are moving. Quote
BLACKBANSHEE04 Posted January 27, 2005 Author Report Posted January 27, 2005 So how could the fan be installed Quote
racer Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 id probably just buy one of those toomey radiators. they are pretty frickin sweet. Quote
stu Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 there is a way of doing it......on the old, old, old forums there were about 3 or 4 threads on how to install it. I think those threads will have been deminished to history now though Holyman or boonman might be able to help/ remember what fans were used and how how tey wired them??? sorry cant be of more help stu Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Please someone tell us how to wire up the fan and what to use becuase I really dont want to spend 400 on a cooler when the stock cooler does not really face the right direction of the wind right now so I think a fan will help draw air through the cooler. 01bansheefox Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Is your shee overheating cause there is that post just about that Cycle Logic Engine Ice save your the trouble and money Quote
quad4me Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 (edited) i am thinking of the fan as well. There are tons otrails here in FL...so its hard to haul ass all day long. here is what i am thinking: get a small deep cycle battery that you can charge and kill all the time. hook it to a switch and then to the small fan on your radiator. Any time that you are in a tight trail, or have to move slow....click that bad boy on until your moving quick again. once that battery is getting dead, or after every run, Charge it back up in the shop! So this way there would be no charging probs with stock stator....no need for $$$ aftermarket one. what you guys think? Edited January 28, 2005 by quad4me Quote
hemimike Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I seen a guy run a heater core from a car and fan under his seat. Looked like a nice job and worked well. I think he found the stuff at the dump so he did good. Quote
05bansh Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 That sounds like a lot of work. I would just throw in some engine ice and a cool head. Or if you want to drop the $$ buy a bigger radiator. Quote
banshdog Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Just get some in-line coolers, drop the temp AT LEAST 30 degrees. Quote
ledofthezep Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 I would think it wouldn't be a bad idea for trail riders who can't always open it up & get some air rushing through the radiator. I couldn't tell you how to wire it up to you stator...but if you're not too concerned about wait & don't have an airbox anymore, you could probably rig up a little lawnmower batter in there & have it on a switch powering 1 or 2 12v fans on the radiator. You'd have to fab some sort of mounts though. Probably wouldn't be too hard at all, just would take a bit of time fabbing everything. Quote
