I am still running the stock setup.14/41...besides the chart that sredish listed, what difference will that make to top end? Also, I do most of my riding in sand, would changing to a 15 tooth up front be a good idea or bad for the conditions I use the shee in most??

you'll have a better holeshot, and longer gears. it's the way to go

Could your modified stock silencers be loosing to much back pressure?? Its somthing to look at backpressure can mean alot when talking about where the powerband is gonna come on. If the jettings dead on and your loosin id gear it back to stock i think its 40 stock then id add pipes, dial in the jetting then work from there like a cool head with some smaller domes and a new top and with some poert work then some carbs but the pipes just for now should keep you way ahead of him.

Thanks for all the replies. I havent had a chance to race my buddy again. But i did replace my clutch and it wasnt looking to good. The new EBC clutch really made a difference. I think it was slipping a little cuase it wouldnt pull the front end up in 2nd but now i can ride them pretty easy with out dumping the clutch. Seems like i do have more power getting to the ground. But i will re-gear it anyways.

I was going to try a 15 front with my 46 back sprocket you guys think this would be a good combo? Right now its a 14/46 gearing. But even launching in 2nd it spins to easily. And yes i finally have beat my buddies 04 after getting a set of used FMF Gold series pipes.

I run the 15/41 and it seems to be pretty good. It does rob a little low end power on mine and I dont know what it would do on a stock bike. Most quads keep up with me for about 3rd gear then Im gone. worked well in the dunes too, not as much shifting.

I'm just going to get the 15/41 sprockets and a new chain. I didnt realize my 14/46 was like a 12/40 as stated earlier. Thanks guys.
