joshv5.0 Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 my neutral impossible to find while running i have the cases split right now so i was wondering is there a trick to fixing this problem? Quote
dynabanshee Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 It could be different things, like bent parts. Hopefully you didn't split the case for this before inspecting the clutch side of the bottom end. It could be your shoulder lever is tweaked, spring is worn, shift star is worn, etc. Shees I have owned nuetral can take a few tries to get into, but never impossible. I would look at the shift star and the mechanisms that control it. Also ensure you don't have slack in the shift shaft (ie: can you hold the shift lever and pull the shaft it is connected to side to side). I'm not a mechanic, but I would guess your problem lies in the shift mechanism and not the tranny. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 PM boonman and ask about the shiftsar mod he does. Also make sure your clutch is adjusted right and your oil is fresh Quote

zilladude Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Is your clutch basket or hub worn? Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 It looks like the rust eat through your rod. Use wd-40 for pre-mix. You might want to call quicksand motorsports about a plate he makes that goes behind the shift star. Make sure your adjustment on the bolt that is like a camshaft that has a lock washer is correct. So when the bike is in a gear the shift shaft c looking thing is equal between the pins on the shift star. Dont get the star modded untill you figure out what the problem is. Look for worn parts too. mat Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 It used to be nearly impossible to find neutral in my banshee as well. Then I had boonman modify my shift star. Problem solved. Quote
kenr74 Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Fresh oil helps a lot with mine. Quote

y2kbanshee9187 Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 my neutral impossible to find while running i have the cases split right now so i was wondering is there a trick to fixing this problem? 281307 yes mine is hard to get in neutral too. I usually just use my hand to get it into neutral. I have just dealt with it so far, not sure what to do. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Fresh oil helps a lot with mine. 281617 Mine too. I still have a little trouble from time to time getting it in neutral but the fresh oil makes a HUGE difference... Quote
2stroker Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 I sometimes have trouble finding neutral too. Rocking the bike back and forth a couple times just enough to move the wheels a little usually solves that problem. Quote
