joshv5.0 Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 does the right hand cylinder look like it was running rich or lean? Quote
NugShee Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 holy crap. umm, me thinks there's something wrong with this picture. Right one looks lean and left one looks pretty beat up. Id rebuild em in the near future and get a new mechanic. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 Motor doesn't look all that old...but what's up with the Left side?? You forget to put in the rings or somthing?? Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 does the right hand cylinder look like it was running rich or lean? 278588 If I remember correctly you only had 3 tanks of gas run through this motor. It looks ok to me, It looks like your .060 over, I believe .080 over on a banshee is max. w/o running into overheating problems. Good luck, hope you get it back together soon. Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 damn, what gives on the left? what the hell kinda oil are you using. you might be able to get away witha hone and a new left piston Quote
white trash Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 That left side looks ugly. Give this a look http://www.poetonaptec.co.uk/technica/pistonguide.htm Quote
InFlames Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 Looks like shit...and who did that half assed cylinder sleve job. Quote
joshv5.0 Posted November 10, 2004 Author Report Posted November 10, 2004 Looks like shit...and who did that half assed cylinder sleve job. 278899 i have no idea i just bought it 3 weeks ago. btw the rod snapped so i need a new crank and a new topend bot didn't excpect all this when i bought it but all i'm asking is does the right side piston look ideal jetting wise? it looks like it is to me. obviously i know the left is fucked Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 um, depends how long the engines been run, and what kinda oil do you happen to be using, castor927? Quote
holeshotkid Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Looks like shit...and who did that half assed cylinder sleve job. 278899 Sleeve job? Those look like coolhead dome o-rings on the top of the cylinders. The jetting looks pretty close, maybe a little on the lean side but not by much. As far as bore size, I have a set of cylinder at .090 over and have never had overheating issues. is the left cylinder gouged at all? It doesn't take a bad crank long to ruin a good bore. Quote
sheefreak Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I'd run it just a little fatter, worst that will happen is it will bog up top and you will have to go back down a size. Quote
