chase73 Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 I had boysen rad valves and ported reed cages on my bike and I recently installed V-force 2 on her and it made a big difference it woke her up . It really depends on what you have done to your engine . I have a stroker with all the bolt on goodies and it was well worth the $$$$$ in my case to go with the v-force . I believe Banchetta has dyno info on all of them Quote
knight_ripper Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 I just put them on my shee....as soon as I ride her I will tell you. But going from 6 year old stockies....I guarantee a difference. Quote
blk02banshee Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Don't forget,...you WILL have to re-tune the carbs to work with the reeds, unless you get really lucky. They made mine rich on the low end, and I had to drop a size on my pilots, and of course adjust the air screws. Quote
Nightrider Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Yea,they do load up the low and mid a bit.You may need to lean out the needle one clip too. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 why port the motor if your going to chock it with the fmf reeds. look at the v-force and fmf's side by side and you'll buy the v-force. Quote
sredish Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 fmf's reeds are nothing more than stock ported cages with fmf branded reeds. I'm not saying ported stockers are bad, but there's a reason why people do that to save money over the vforce. If your gonna buy some reeds, spend the money and get the vforce, otherwise port your stockers and get some TDR reeds and that'll work better than FMFs. Quote
. Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I went from the stockers to the boyeson dual stage epoxy reeds and noticed a big difference. Those stock reeds are for the birds. My shees throttle response drastically improved and my shee started doing what I wanted it to do when I wanted it to. Completely changed the feel of the quad to say the least, it was surprising. With the V-force I put on, I got a little better throttle response, but I mostly felt the low to midrange pull. I have a very wide powerband hit, and when it started coming on, I could really feel the difference in the v-force. I'm impressed with them to say the least. Quote
