TTG-Shee14 Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 Im deciding on getting T-6 pipes but i would like to know if there is some problems with them. Little confused if i should go with them or SST, or Duncan Mid range set-up, or Fatty. I Drag up Dune hills and dune ride. Also posted here: My Post Thx for your help! Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 what other mods do you have? do you plan on getting porting in the future? if so then id invest in something else. the t6's work great on stock engines, but t5's perform beter with porting. plan ahead so that you dont end up spending a lot more money than neccessary. TTG-Shee14 Posted July 4, 2004 Author Report Posted July 4, 2004 no porting at all... Jetting and all mods listed below in sig vvv Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 if you dont ever plan on doing any porting then id go with t6's. if you plan on porting then go with t5's. i have no experience with the other pipes so i cant help you much there. i do know that toomey makes a quality product and ive never had any problems with mine. TTG-Shee14 Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 Thx locogato11283 for your help... i thought t6 were best for my future mods.. Thx again ya all Keep posting! Quote
NE-Shee Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 I had t6's with minor mods and they sucked. Not only did they not fit right but the more mods you do the more the pipes make up changes. All i had done at the time was a cool head 20cc, advance timming, v-force reeds, K&N without lid and it ran like sh@@!#. Believe it or not stock banshees were hanging in for a while . Called Toomey and they even said they have had alot of trouble with the fit and they told me i should have read the description better it states they were designed to give a stock bike 20 hps on top end and 8-10 on low to mid range.Toomey stated that if a person was even going to advance the timing or change the filter these statistics would change.Thay said these pipes are great if the pipes were the only thing a person was going to do. They change mine out for t5's and i tell you what it made a world of difference. There was a noticeable difference and i love them.. So to save you time and money if you plan on doing any thing else to your bike stay away from the tr6's. In my opinion i love the t5's but i have also road with sst's, fatty's, paul turner mids, rockets, and many others because in our group of about 30 people everyone has something a little different. Hope this helps you a little but the most important thing to do is research the different pipes and buy the one that best fits your riding style. Quote
TTG-Shee14 Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 WoW thx dude that helped alot! Thats all i needed was advice from some1 who has ridin' on most of the pipes i was looking for. Thx again! I want hi end so i guess im going with T-5. Thx for your help yet again. Quote
spoolnvr4 Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Well i jsut got the TR6's in they look good, but i havent put them on the bike... i tell ya after viewing this forum, i kinda dont know if i made the right choice, i am going to put them tomorrow. I plan on keeping my bike stock, they told me with porting on the banshee, the t5's are good. then the guy said to equal the porting and the t5's... the T6's stock will be great... well i guess ill fill you guys in once its all done Quote
spoolnvr4 Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Also how bout the trinty's? i called them they said the bike will rev another 1700RPM IIRC... well teh t6's are already in hand... i guess all i have to do now it try them out... guys out here are sayin the t6's are straight out crazy, but i havent met anyone with them, and soem of these people were drunk... ha Quote
MotulMonsta Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 I don't know about another 1700 rpms..But if they say so. Your lucky if your runnin at 10,000 on a banshee engine. The way the ignition works, the higher the rpms, the less spark the motor gets..it actualy skips cycles from my understanding so in time, the motor will kill itself before it over-revs...that's how it supposed to work. getonit Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 i have t5s and t6s and they both run good on my bike the jetting is different for each and the t6s fit the best the t5s rev farther out on top its all in the way you tune it. im ported with pj 34s on 110 gas, run quicker on top with the t5s Quote
DGFUNNY70 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 WHAT WAS YOUR JETTING CHANGE FROM THE T-6 TO THE T-5 GETONIT Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 id seriously just get some t5s and be done with it. ive just heard too much bad shit about t6s. i have always run t5s with no problems. plus they sound cool. but not as cool as my rockets Quote
Oilsmoke Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 If you like the Looks of the T6's and you are wanting a topend pipe Look at the Shearer Pipe and they Love porting, Cheaper than toomey T6 Rev higher than the T5 too. Quote
