b_a_n_s_h_e_e
Hey guys, I have kind of a weird problem...When I'm racing up hills at glamis (China, Olds, etc.) and I'm holding the throttle compltely pinned racin to the top, the motor has some sort of miss or something. It only happens about 50% of the time, and only when I'm wide open and revvin it pretty high. It like, cuts in and out, then when I let off the gas, it's fine again???What's this all about? Does anyone know what my problem may be? It is on the Red/Black shee in my sig. Thanks, Troy
Nighty
Maybe your carbs are starving for fuel? so that would be float hight Or you need to rejet your mains.
williebiv
eliminate your tors. This sometimes causes the cutout at full throttle when climbing long pulls.
b_a_n_s_h_e_e
TORS is already eliminated, and mains are jetted correctly. It hasn't always done this, I just kind of noticed it one day. I can check the float height I suppose, what should they be set at? -Troy
Nighty
float hight should be between 20-22 MM (out of my head) hehe check the manual for the inches also if the sparkplugs are getting old, a new set might fix it.
oldturtle
I had same type of wide open miss on dirt bike and after a lot of hair pulling it turned out to be a partially plugged up spark arrestor screen. If you have the screen type SA might be worth a look.
BenBB
Could be the coil failing; intermittant and high-speed miss are a couple good symptoms...can you swap it with the other bike? Might be worth a try.
MotulMonsta
What do the plugs look like? Could be a little on the lean side. Also if your running it that hard, you might be hitting the rev limit.
