b_a_n_s_h_e_e Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Hey guys, I have kind of a weird problem...When I'm racing up hills at glamis (China, Olds, etc.) and I'm holding the throttle compltely pinned racin to the top, the motor has some sort of miss or something. It only happens about 50% of the time, and only when I'm wide open and revvin it pretty high. It like, cuts in and out, then when I let off the gas, it's fine again???What's this all about? Does anyone know what my problem may be? It is on the Red/Black shee in my sig. Thanks, Troy Quote
Nighty Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Maybe your carbs are starving for fuel? so that would be float hight Or you need to rejet your mains. Quote
williebiv Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 eliminate your tors. This sometimes causes the cutout at full throttle when climbing long pulls. Quote
b_a_n_s_h_e_e Posted March 19, 2004 Author Report Posted March 19, 2004 TORS is already eliminated, and mains are jetted correctly. It hasn't always done this, I just kind of noticed it one day. I can check the float height I suppose, what should they be set at? -Troy Quote
Nighty Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 float hight should be between 20-22 MM (out of my head) hehe check the manual for the inches also if the sparkplugs are getting old, a new set might fix it. Quote
oldturtle Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 I had same type of wide open miss on dirt bike and after a lot of hair pulling it turned out to be a partially plugged up spark arrestor screen. If you have the screen type SA might be worth a look. Quote
BenBB Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 Could be the coil failing; intermittant and high-speed miss are a couple good symptoms...can you swap it with the other bike? Might be worth a try. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted March 19, 2004 Report Posted March 19, 2004 What do the plugs look like? Could be a little on the lean side. Also if your running it that hard, you might be hitting the rev limit. Quote
geaux 4 it Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Could be the plug caps.do a plug check. Quote
