  1. I was there this weekend and the ban is posted and in effect. I talked with the officers on Sunday morning as they were posting signs on everyother telephone pole. I am of split opinion on this issue. I do understand that it is dangerous and it is the few idiots that affect the rest of us that are able to drink responsibly. I will feel better about riding during the day and taking my kids out for a cruz. For this I am thankful for the new law. But I hate the fact if at the end of my riding day I would like to have myself a couple of Beers I can't. I have seen the kaos of the dunes on Memorial weekend and it has become more about voyeurist watch of who can be the biggest idiot. I use to be part of that and have now become an old married man with kids and see the other side. Hate taking away rights to compensate for lack of ability to control those who are out of control. Guess it will make it much easier to make it a daytrip there instead of staying over. Not drinking makes it much easier to drive home, This will put a wrinkle in moses lake economy as it is a large part of their tourisim draw. I feel for the owner of the conoco at the end of the road because this will definetly reflect on his business. Just my 2 cents though
  2. Moses lake is probably the best of the three. Mostly because of size. Beverly is fun for a quick daytrip because it is small but overcrowded, Juniper is nice and also fairly large but you need to use your dirt tires because you will be riding dirt trails to fingers of sand. it is nice thought I would suggest you try it atleast once. Almost have to make a roadtrip to see good dunes in Oregon.
  3. I sent the carbs back, the company say one probably is bad and they will check and take care of it.
  4. needle and ceet are still good carbs are almost new and the jetting is the same (both 175's) If ignition was bad or pickup was off it wouldn't follow from cylinder to cylinder like mine is right?? Must be a carb problem not an electrical right??
  5. Nope I got them from Carbparts warehouse.
  6. I have 30mm carbs that are giving me alittle trouble I can't figure out. At WOT one cylinder will totally cut out but at anything else she is running like a dream. I have tried changing plug wires to see if it follows, it doesn't. I change the carb from side to side and it follows the carberator. I have switched the slide assembly and it follows where the main body of the carb is. I have cleaned out complete carbs the jets, the needle assembly and all. I check and changed the float level to the point where the fuel is comming out the overflow and it still does it. Airfilters are clean and everything is sealed tight, did compression test and it is same on both sides. Any idea what this could be? Any help would be appreciated.
  7. running my new 30 mms on my banshee and am having a problem with the WOT it is bogging out on one cylinder. I know it is the carbs because, I have swithced the wires and I have checked for every air leak boost bottle change the o rings in my cool head cleaned my airfilters and new plugs (br8eix) changed over carbs and the cylinder that is missing is the one that follows the carb. Cleaned out the mains and don't understand. Have the pwk 30's need to fix soon have a drag race comming soon. any suggestions will help. When I pulled the jets last the chamber came out with the jet is this suppose to be a certain way with the vents or just torked down? let me know. Runs like a mother fucker till last couple of 100 rpms any help would be appreciated thanks\
  8. eliminate your tors. This sometimes causes the cutout at full throttle when climbing long pulls.
  9. your setup is close to mine except you have the stroked crank and I have K&n socks. But I am now running 175 mains and pretty sure that they are 40 pilots. I moved the need into one position ritcher. I run close to sea level and she runs like a dream!
  10. Your bike setup sounds alot like mine. My carbs 28's tapered to 30's went on last year. I ended up going up one size on the pilots and richened up the needles one clip. The mains have ended up at 175 may be alittle rich for you but close. If you just put them on you will have to dial up the idle screws until you get a good idle.
  11. Looking for an 89 spindle for buddy or if anyone knows if there are other years that are interchangable. I know that 2000 will not work as the brake mounts are different.
  12. Buddy got a banshee the other day and we are trying to decide which carbs he has on it. My carbs have the size stamped on the side but his don't. The only thing we could find is this number 73 RAB KJ Anyone know what they may be or how to findout?
  13. I have heard that the delta's are the way to go, but I have the rad valve now. Is it worth the extra $200 to switch at this point?
  14. exhaust port duration---don't have any idea. I am somewhere around 700 - 1000 ft elevation. My motor was fresh in 98 and haven't touched since ( ain't broke don't fix it) Probably will need a new ring set sometime soon though. Is there any performance advantage other than fitting my carbs better? That is a problem I can live with for $189. Some say that it will increase bottom end. True/false or any other increases.
  15. I was looking at LRD's kit. They recommend a pro design intake with their setups. I am curious for those who have it --- how well does it work and what have you noticed. Also where to find at best price. I am ported, have boyseen rad valve, 4 degree advance, 28mm tapered out to 30's, K&N pods, cool head W/ 19cc domes (150 compression) Toomey T-5 pipes. If anyone has any other suggestions for other mod's that imput would also be warranted. Thanks
