I plan on porting my cylinders and I wanted to know if I need to hone them after I do this? I am going to buy the kit with the templets....

I also plan on porting the reed cages, +4 on the timing and a Noss head with 20cc domes. Is this going to be okay on the stock crank and pump gas?

Right now my bikes is stock other then Pro Circuit pipes and a 2 into air filter.

Thanks

Jeff

While your puttin around and porting your jugs and cages I would get the crank welded. By the time its done you'll be as well and if anything you'll have piece of mind that your crank wont seperate and grenade your new port work and pistons/top end.

After you port it your gonna need to chamfer the ports again to make sure the rings don't get caught, and then give em a light hone, that will get rid of any burs that may be left from the chamfering. You need to hone it anyway to brake the glaze and make sure you get proper ring seat.

I just recently bought a cool head for my shee and i was told that stock is 23 and the guy told me to put 21 in there and it runs great. I just got done tearing the motor down and the pistons looked good. he told me that when i go to get it ported that i should move down to 19.
