jasonsb Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 Are you running big carbs? That will cause a lot of stiffness. Other than that, have you changed anything, or has it always been like that. Stiffness in the thumb is normal when riding for a long time at a time. Quote
superchicken Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 if its normally like that and your just tired of getting riders thumb they have an extension for the throttle lever costs around 20$works good put one on my wife quad and she can hang all day now.if it just got like that try lubing it up or if all else fails buy a new one Quote
Dextreme Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 If it seems to be stiffer than normal. Take the cover off the thumb throttle and inspect it for dirt/sand. There is a drainhole in there that allow crud to get in there and then ends up going down your cable. If there is lots of crud in there, remove your cables and douch with carb cleaner (or replace). Then seal up that hole with shoe goo or silicon. Quote

H300F Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 I took a dremel with a sand paper wheel or grinding stone to the outside edge of the spring from top to bottom to thin the spring out. some people also cut their springs down. Quote
