Are you running big carbs? That will cause a lot of stiffness. Other than that, have you changed anything, or has it always been like that. Stiffness in the thumb is normal when riding for a long time at a time.

if its normally like that and your just tired of getting riders thumb they have an extension for the throttle lever costs around 20$works good put one on my wife quad and she can hang all day now.if it just got like that try lubing it up or if all else fails buy a new one

If it seems to be stiffer than normal. Take the cover off the thumb throttle and inspect it for dirt/sand. There is a drainhole in there that allow crud to get in there and then ends up going down your cable. If there is lots of crud in there, remove your cables and douch with carb cleaner (or replace). Then seal up that hole with shoe goo or silicon.

if its really bad get a tennis ball and do some thumb exercises lol thast what i did

I took a dremel with a sand paper wheel or grinding stone to the outside edge of the spring from top to bottom to thin the spring out. some people also cut their springs down.

how many winds would i have to cut to feel a difference and actually be oon the safe side?

My Banshee has given me thumb cramps every since I bought it. I called cascadeinnovations.com & bought an xtra long billet lever. Looks cool & helped a ton. $35
