@@banshee_rider@@ Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 i have problems with jetting tr6 pipes and daul k&n filters. i want to know what the size of main and pilot jets shoud i use and i am on sea level. Quote
spoin39 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I would start at 300-320 main. I don't run open filters so this is a guess but should get you close, the stock pilot might be OK, if you adjust the airscrew and it gets better response the more you go in you might want to try 1 size up. Aussie Quad Racer Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 with open airfilters slip some 400 mains in. Work from there. Mine idled fine with the 25 in it but i had dynajet needles. i was also running 450 mains. Quote
51222 Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 i have T6 with dual K&N filters my jetting is 290 and she is running perfectly... Quote
BenBB Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I agree with spoin39 and 51222, but I'd start with 330 mains and 30 pilots, you could start with 400's like Aussie said but I think that's a bit much, and you'd wind up going down on the mains quite a ways... Got some stuff in the Jetting FAQ below that might help you dial in the jetting too: Quote
@@banshee_rider@@ Posted January 15, 2004 Author Report Posted January 15, 2004 hi guys, i just have small problems in jetting right i bouht 300mains,and 30pilot When i installed the banshee star to bog when in wot and the speed start decrease i just want if i am lean or rich. Quote
Banchetta Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I'd guess that your too rich.....most of the time if your too lean then it would still go and be not want to rev or feel like someone hit the kill switch. If your too rich then it'll usually spit and sputter and sound like its flooded out.. Quote
sheeweet Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 What's your elevation and temp? Quote
@@banshee_rider@@ Posted January 16, 2004 Author Report Posted January 16, 2004 SEA LEVEL 30dEGREE CILCIUS Quote
sheeweet Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 SEA LEVEL 30dEGREE CILCIUS OK sea level but 30 degrees Celsius. That's pretty warm isn't it? Maybe Banchetta is right and you are too rich. Go back down to 280/290 and then do a 6th gear plug chop and check your plugs, best to use new plugs when you do this. Just don't get too lean whatever you do! But to me it seems with those clamp on K&N's that you would be pretty lean with 300's already. Be careful! Quote
@@banshee_rider@@ Posted January 19, 2004 Author Report Posted January 19, 2004 hi again, today i got mu shee running, there were fire coming from the right carb when i give it WOT for 2 seconds. i want to know what does that mean? Quote
sheeweet Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 More info!! Was the engine/pipes warm/hot? Did you change anything over the weekend? Have you checked the packing in your silencers lately? You said fire came out of the right carb. Do you mean the right silencer or out the carb intake where a filter sould be? Was there a filter on it? If not then you're way lean asking for a disaster. Or if the fire came from silencer then I wonder if your silencers are saturated with unburned fuel/oil or it was a lean backfire. Just need more info!! Quote
@@banshee_rider@@ Posted January 20, 2004 Author Report Posted January 20, 2004 yes, the fire came from the right carb and the air filter was removed but not from the right silencer Quote
51222 Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 hey Smoking Banshee whats with the wow....?? Quote
lincster Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 hey Smoking Banshee whats with the wow....?? He is saying Wow because that is a small main jet for pipes and no airbox. Your bike may run good, but it won't run good for long. You are more than likely, pretty lean. I run 370 mains at 500' elevation with the pipes and air filter in my signature. This is assuming you are not at 6000' elevation. Are you??? Quote
