Keithrc1988 Posted December 7, 2025 Report Posted December 7, 2025 My banshee starts and runs fine in neutral, but as soon as you shift it into first or second it dies. Doesn’t matter if clutch pulled in or not, and it’s not dragging or sticking. Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 7, 2025 Report Posted December 7, 2025 Started all of a sudden? You didn't notice anything strange prior? Carb jets clean? Once you put it into gear, you're putting it under a load which will consume more fuel. I'd start with checking the carbs. What about plugs? Quote
Keithrc1988 Posted December 7, 2025 Author Report Posted December 7, 2025 I just rebuilt it and went from Stock to 68.50. This was first time starting it up. Have 28 mm kehien carbs with 160 main and 55 pilot. Air box with no lid and k and n filter. Quote

locogato11283 Posted December 8, 2025 Report Posted December 8, 2025 So it dies as soon as you click it into gear? You’re not even letting the clutch out? Quote

kawa110 Posted December 8, 2025 Report Posted December 8, 2025 Prolly needs clutch. Engine off, put in gear, pull clutch lever, rotate the rear wheels, if they won’t move, clutch pack is seized…maybe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 8, 2025 Report Posted December 8, 2025 Yea, it almost has to be the clutch. Quote

locogato11283 Posted December 9, 2025 Report Posted December 9, 2025 When the bike dies, does it lurch forward or not? If so, you have a clutch/cable out of adjustment. Quote
375hp banshees Posted December 9, 2025 Report Posted December 9, 2025 Jack it up & start it, feather the clutch release. report back Quote
caleb90 Posted December 20, 2025 Report Posted December 20, 2025 When I did my build , I put a fast clutch kit and bill it basket in. Mine drags when I pull the clutch in, especially if it's been sitting a long time. I also have a out 10hours on the build, so the clutch still isn't broken in yet I'd assume. That being said, is start with said above. It's either jetting and or the clutch is sticking. When you did the build did you pull the clutch? Check the basket for grooves? Quote
Keithrc1988 Posted January 1 Author Report Posted January 1 Clutch is working fine. I bought bigger pilots jet kit gonna try that. I had 55 in it already then bored it to 68.50. I ordered 55-80 jets Quote
375hp banshees Posted January 1 Report Posted January 1 Sound like you figured it out... replace jets, to fix a clutch problem ftw Quote
