[email protected] Posted July 4, 2020 Report Posted July 4, 2020 Good afternoon. Greetings from snowy Siberia! I started building a snowbike based on a Yamaha Banshee engine. What improvements do you recommend for the maximum power / price ratio? I somehow see the installation of the crankshaft +7mil and porting the stock cylinder. or use the Athena lshe 392cc? I want to achieve the maximum torque and the maximum length of it. Which option do you think is best suited for snowbikes? Tell me also what is different about porting Dyna, play, drag? https://ibb.co/J544z1n https://ibb.co/cJCqbxt https://ibb.co/Jcxp6WD Quote

This is not a Banshee gathering. I use a Banshee engine, a yamaha rz250r motorcycle frame, a Honda cr250 fork. To install the track, I completely make everything myself, starting from the suspension levers and ending with the sidewalls. from plywood, these are just layouts, they are cheap and easy to cut with a laser. It remains to understand what to do with the engine. how to get the maximum power with a minimum investment of money. registered user Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 very nice work comrade 👍. the very cheapest engine might be +4 hotrods welded crank with 115mm conrod and ported yamaha cylinder. also you can use this cylinder for more money http://www.cpindinc.com/ Quote

Can I waste a stock cylinder up to the size of 68mm? what is the maximum diameter possible with the stock bore of the cylinders? It is possible to make new cylinder liners for any diameter and make new pistons for these liners. Edited July 5, 2020 by [email protected] Quote
registered user Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 i dont hear of many people using athena cyl. so i dont know if theyre any good. is there anybody close to your country to port stock cyl ? you could send your cyl to usa but i dont know how much shipping cost. really im not sure if you can bore stock cyl to 68mm without new sleeve. maybe 66 is max? you can email a site sponsor and see what the price is Quote

trickedcarbine Posted July 12, 2020 Report Posted July 12, 2020 Stock cyls can definitely be ported to make a really usable 80hp with a 4mm stroker crank. That build would have plenty enough torque to help get the rear track going. That set up would be the cheapest power you could get with out any crazy machine work. If you insist on needing more power and going with an aftermarket cylinder, avoid the Athena stuff. They need a bit of machine work to be sorted out properly, where as the Driveline and CP Industries cylinders can be bolted on and make good reliable power. Then if you want more, they can be ported and make even more power. Quote
