I even went a bit to much so she starves on topend but the fuel still comes out when she stops.... Any help please could it be the vent pipes... 1 Quote
trickedcarbine Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 Make sure the brass vent tubes on the bowl aren't bent. Quote
sleeper06 Posted July 30, 2016 Report Posted July 30, 2016 What did you set the floats to 16mm and did you do it correctly Quote
trickedcarbine Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 There's the problem. Vent lines are going under vacuum if you're using a lid or top mount filter. They need to draw air in and like that, it's possible they are doing the opposite. Try it with the lines vented to atmosphere. Quote
Kleinki Posted July 31, 2016 Author Report Posted July 31, 2016 Okey thanks.... Will give it a try. Quote
Kleinki Posted July 31, 2016 Author Report Posted July 31, 2016 Just to clarify... Even when she is off the petrol runs so it cant be the vent tubes.... Is there anything else that can go wrong that will make the fuel run out.. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 Inspect and clean the needle/seat valve. Quote
sheerider11 Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 ^^ Check valve, line, and filter. Also pull the petcock and check the screen Quote
Kleinki Posted July 31, 2016 Author Report Posted July 31, 2016 Al of that is brand new im still on my first tank of fuel with the new parts.... Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 "I remember one time, I bought and installed a brand name NEW nitrous oxide solenoid valve and the first time we purged it a small half moon shaped jag of metal stuck the valve open and drained the whole bottle. Turned out to be a shard of metal from tapping the holes in that assembly when it was built" 1 Quote
sleeper06 Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 I wasn't saying anything negative, just wondering if you tilted the carb on a 45* to set the height, stock carbs set diffrently. I've see many people set keihin like stock carbs and have overflow issues as well as a few lean condition Quote
Kleinki Posted July 31, 2016 Author Report Posted July 31, 2016 I was reading that because the carb is sitting with a slight angle on the single intake, blokes are bending the tip of the copper tube a bit upwards to counter the angle. Any comments on that.. I dont wane block it off all he way like some riders scared of flooding the bike like crazy... Quote
RIPPIN' IT UP Posted August 1, 2016 Report Posted August 1, 2016 Had a cracked overflow tube on a keihin carb once on a KTM right down the bottom of the tube. What is the model of carb & what is the rate that the fuel runs out at, has in drips per minute sort of thing? Sent from my ZTE T84 using Tapatalk Quote
Kleinki Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 So i set the floats again today bent the little pipe upwards and shes not leaking.... Lets hope it stays like that. Quote
