Weird tinging sound right side

After a few drag races, at the end coming down to an idle, my right expansion chamber has a loud tinging.

 

It's never done that before. I tried to isolate the rattling kicker and the brake lever against the lock-up cover.

I'm almost positive it's a ting in that pipe.

It goes away pretty quick so it's hard to distinguish exactly where it's coming from.

 

Any ideas?

The plug looked good and it only does it right after a really hard run.

 

421 Serval, 35 pwk's 155main 48pilot, OG Rockets. The arms on the lock-up have a little side to side play, I thought maybe the noise came from them?

I just don't want to blow it up.

I really don't think so, but it seemed to me like a really bad lean loud ting sound. But only on decel and only lasted a few seconds sitting still trying to hear exactly where it was coming from.

That is one of the things I will remove and check now that I'm home.

But when started cold both cylinders fired and idled, and both pipes warmed up the same.

Problem is if it's right on the edge of lean, and it gets wicked up and starts making lots of heat, then you let off, it could be a little bit starved with out the main feeding it.

Are the pipe springs making the sound? Less likely with inframes though. I've had some strange sounds come from the springs on OOFs.

I did bust the upper spring on that side on the first run that I noticed that noise.

So it could have been harmonics from the lonely lower?

Wait, are we talking about your rockets? Those fuckers make all kinds of tinny wind chime noise at part throttle. But good mounts can help.

HaHa, yes, and yes they do. But this was new and loud, but short lived.

Bummer that I didn't run it Sunday with a new spring.

 

It rained and I rode my purple one. Rolled it 3 separate occasions with no damage.

Dump gas on it and light it on fire.. that will fix it
