This could be a decent option.  I dont know what the skin temp of the pipe back by the pods is...Im assuming it is under 500F.

I was told to wet it first. So im going to redo it soon. It's a 50' roll so i've got a lot extra.

 

off topic but i need to find a sleeve to fit fuel tubing. I dont like how close my left pipe passes close to the left fuel line from the pet cock to the left carb.

 

I think ill order the stuff like white braead has and do my stingers too. Much cleaner. Time to search for some 1 3/16 id stuff for big bores.

 

edit* i think the 1 1/4 id will work for me fine

I didn't wet it and this is my 3rd time doing it.

It is usually spun glass and wetting it helps it stick to itself while still being workable....

Exactly how close is the line to the pipe? Mine is damn close on 20mm bike. Used a zip tie on the carb to hold it in place and no issues

I have a very small amount bubbles in the line now. I need to get some fuel line clamps or I'll just zip tie the ends.

Any reason you do insulation the whole length of the pipe?  I figured the only hot spot area is around the pods, correct?

I have 4' of insulation tubing coming. I'm doing my whole stinger. I noticed on my old rear plastics it burned through it with my old CPI's so i want to prevent that.
