But you've already said more than enough to make me believe an intelligent conversation is impossible. If I were you I'd stop now anyhow. I spend about 60 or 70 hours a week repairing heavy equipment and large diesel engines. And it's been my life since I was born. So good luck. Unless you can tell me what is so great about v8 diesels compared to inline diesels and why they are basically only in pickup trucks, you fucking lose and my point still stands. Your point can't stand because you haven't made one. And any point you make is just your OPINION, not a fact. Apparently you don't get out much because V8's and V style engines are used in all kinds of shit. They're used in pickups because they stretch the torque curve out way better than an inline 6. They can perform better under different loads at different speeds across a wider RPM range. The inline 6's still work good, they're just better suited for work and constant heavy loads. Inline 6's make torque across about 250 RPM range if you want them to live. That's why they go in semi trucks and some heavy equipment. There's nothing wrong with them, they're just better at 1 load, at a constant RPM. But here's where it gets fun. No train has used an inline 6 for decades, the overwhelming majority of ships are V engines, along with gensets and pump stations. The only country in the world that still uses an I6 in most big trucks is the US. Europe and Australia have gone to mostly V8's. Locomotive engine, V12 Ship engine, damn that fucker sure looks like a V style engine. Genset engine, holy shit!!! Another V engine. Fuck this pile of mine, its time for a new rig! So here is the question.................... 2015 or 2016, what to buy? Needs to be- long bed 1 ton (or more) diesel about as loaded as they come RELIABLE (I understand they are all junk) Here is where Im at right now Chev- Rides great, runs well, TERRIBLE mileage, Backup camera sucks a fat kids dick, safety chain connections are a facking joke, the goofy receiver insert is dumb as fuck. Ford- Rides decent, runs well, mileage sucks, a little less spaceship like that the chev, seems to tow a bit better (less wander), I like the tail gate deal, a little cheaper, 6.7 seems to be proven. Dodge- I haven't spent as much time in the newer dodges. Dodge is the lowest on the list or choices, but Im willing to listen to what you have to say from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, not "my buddy" bullshit. Tyler's is the work truck version and it's nice as can be. I've driven several of my customers Fords and they're nice too. Ford and Dodge are a toss up imo. Sean's interior is nice and the newer ones look sweet too. Dodge also has a killer new style interior. My dad just bought a 2016 Dodge Ram 2500. It's pretty slick. You already know Ford has maintained it's standard of quality of fit and finish for years now. Ford has proven consistently it has the most durable auto tranny of the two. And without any doubt the more durable front end. The 6.7 Ford diesel has been out long enough now that they've worked out all of the infancy bugs. Ram is improving on their quality for body and interior, but they are still playing catchup to the leader. Why switch away from a product that has proven itself to you already?
