trickedcarbine Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 Cylinder richens up and it takes a couple revs to clean them out.Ohhh really, Is this normal, what causes it and what can fix it............? Quote
Jgspahn Posted August 11, 2014 Author Report Posted August 11, 2014 Proper jetting I'm having a little bit of jetting issues, or an air leak. The bike held 6 psi for 10 minutes though.. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Proper jettingI was just being fecetious. Some guys act like it's normal. But that would make for a bike that fouls plugs for sure. Quote
Jgspahn Posted March 23, 2015 Author Report Posted March 23, 2015 OK, I finally tore it apart and found multiple issues. First, the gaskets from both cylinders where wet like this. [=http://s286.photobucket.com/user/jgspahn/media/Banshee/20150322_175446.jpg.html][/url] Second, both pistons showed major wear on the corners wear the cylinder nuts go. What happened here? It looks significant.. please read the initial few posts where I explained what happened if you have time. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Cylinders not tight enough on the cases? Quote
sheerider11 Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 What's a cold seizeNot letting a bike warm up. Starting it and reving the piss out of it to warm it up faster or to keep it running which it sounds like you may have done. Quote
Deadbeat Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 hot pistons + cold cylinder, maybe you fucked up the premix Quote
Jgspahn Posted March 23, 2015 Author Report Posted March 23, 2015 It's cool, I realize that I made mistakes, but they were out of inexperience and ignorance, not stupidity or carelessness. I already have the piston, so I'm going to send them off this week to be bored. Would any of this cause issues with the crank? It was true and welded on the current rebuild. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Any top end carnage/seizure and make a crank's days numbered. I'd take that all the way down to be sure. Just seals and case sealant. Quote
