Kickstarter rust

How can I remove this people? with out having to take it off? Or how can I at least make it look better

if you're afraid to remove kick starter you need a different hobby

It is a very hard concept. But what i normally do is hold the kicker down a wee little bit so i can get a socket on the single bolt, turn it counterclockwise until bolt falls out, then sometimes a flat head screw driver is needed to relieve some pressure off the splines. Then pull the kick starter outward, and usually if all went well it will plop right off.

remove the bolt completely, it will come right off. 

 

Then, sand it or bead blast it and clear coat it.

After it rattles for enough years it will just fall off. If your lucky you will find it and then you should have no problem throwing some paint on it.

Don't be a pussy and pull it off. Then wire wheel it. Or wire wheel it on the bike with everything else around it.

Buy some rattle can chrome paint.

Make a half hearted attempt to mask off the part.

Spray kickstarter with chrome paint and let dry.

Take pictures of machine and list for sale locally.

Buy a 300EX

Join a Honda forum till your air pressures get too low and you need to sell the 300EX.........
