buffalo
my trans fluid is turning black within 2 tanks of gas, is that normal or do I have leaking crank seal
Infamous039
Trans fluid doesn't last as long as gear oil. Also you clutch could be wearing out as well. Use gear oil so you get a few more rides on the fluid Bogator
buffalo
yes will try that. I notice a lot of guys in here using tranny fluid. I am not loosing any but can smell it burning when running hard and getting hot, was wondering if crankcase could vent in there if I had bad seals or vise versa

Larry's Shee
Cheep fluid , riding shit out of clutch, or clutch is wearing out. Do you have to adjust clutch a lot?
buffalo
clutch seems to be working ok, not slipping at all. If that is what it is it will not be long befour it fails completely & I have a spare. I did run it hard and should be able to smell burnt clutch in the fluid if it is getting bad. will check into it some more befour my next ride......... cheers

armyvet
i thought only us older guys use atf fluid in tranny?Usually the newer generation wont run it if their builder or "baldwin" or race team in "atv rider" says too.lol

RagunCajun
i thought only us older guys use atf fluid in tranny? It used to be only $1.80ish. I miss those days. Id would use what my builder said too. Better than cheaping out and hurting the clutch or trans.
