2005shee Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 I went riding today and at the end we decided to do some drag racing in the parking lot mainly because my buddy was talking crap about his cr125 beating my banshee. we did multiple races and we did them from a roll with a designated person at the start and finish on dry pavement so no one could say anything. I raced his 125 which has a wiseco piston, k and n, and a bills pipe and killed it and I then raced a 660 raptor with a stage 1 hotcam, k and n and a Yoshi slip on, same result. those 2 raced and one beat the other once apiece. as we were racing a cr250 came up to us and aked whos banshee that was I told him it was mine and he wanted to race, he had a fmf exhaust. we raced three times the first I beat him by like 3 lengths, the second I started the roll in the wrong gear and bogged down bad but still beat him by about a bike length, the third I again beat him by about three. my friend with the cr 125 says there was no way but he saw me beat him every time. does this seem about right? I have a plus 4 timing plate, Toomey t5s, k and n, and wiseco pistons, that's it for performance. I have videos but its from behind so you cant really see the finish. it was about and 1/8th of a mile race neither one of us topped out and I had them all from start to finish except the second race with the cr250 where I messed up he was ahead for about 100 feet. RagunCajun Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 no. I own a yz250. I've owned a 01 yz125. I've had a bolt on and ported banshee at the same time as those. My yz250 shits on piped banshee's on knobbies. Once i did a 4mil,override and pro wedge 2's, i could 60' the hell out of my yz250. It's all about set up. The average person around here doesnt have raptors or 450's set up for a strait line therefor dirtbikes spank them. But that's the funny though about actually racing. Anything can happen. good kills. I had never rode a 250 and I told him he could ride mine if I could ride his, we didn't race though id didn't trust him lol. but you don't think I should have won? Quote

RagunCajun Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 If the dirtbike hooks no. I have a terrible time getting traction on my yz250. My buddy's pipe no tune 13 yfz450 beats me usually or barely looses. So i should of worded my post differently. My mistake. I think the 250 dirtbikes make about 42hp stock. Piped banshee makes maybe 45ish if i remember. Dirtbike is lighter but has a little single tire in the back trying to hook. Rider skill/traction is crucial. Doesnt matter if you should of shouldnt of won. There's no such thing. You won and that's that. Good job sir. I also never raced on pavement. Just open fields. Quote

registered user Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 most modern 250's are about 45hp. give or take alittle depending which bike it is. properly built with methanol you should get close to 70hp. that would give alot of banshees a run for their money. bikes are generally lighter also Quote
