I thought you guys might like this. It's a 2010 Ninja 250 with a Banshee motor. The build thread is on www.2strokeworld.com but it is down right now (happens once in a while). I will post a link to the build thread when it goes back up!  The pic is below and here is a link to my photobucket album on the bike. hell yeah....i bet it runs circles around the original 250....

Well...more than double the horsepower and at least 50 pounds lighter....

Pipe seems to be a bit low. Either way I think that's pretty sick

They're very low. I haven't had a chance to properly mount the exhaust yet. I dragged it coming out of the parking lot on my first ride!!

Pretty cool. Have you considered RZ350 style pipes for that build? You would be surprised how well they work on applications like yours.

Are you saying that RZ pipes work well on Banshee motors? Even without power valves?

Why did you use a single pipe?

A couple of reasons. I was approaching a deadline and needed something to get me on the road. I had been planning the trip to Deals Gap for months and was running out of time. I have a set of FMF's I was considering using, but the work to reconfigure them is crazy. Remember....Banshee pipes curl up and over when exiting the exh port which is the exact opposite of a street bike.....unless I wanted to run them through the gas tank!! LOL

 

I actually considered DG RZ350 pipes, but I knew they wouldn't be optimal and I would probably need to cut out a lot of the lower fairing. I liked the idea of a 2 into 1 since when I get the time to tuck it up properly I will be more likely to be able to hide it in the fairing. I was worried whether or not a 2 into 1 would work well, but that pipe was designed by Slinger of GPL Racing as an experiment of sorts for a friends radically ported RZ350 race bike. It actually worked pretty well on his bike and their final conclusion was that it would work great on a bike with less radical porting which is exactly what I had. I was able to fit it and get on the road with a minimal amount of work. If the pipe wound up not working well at least I wouldn't have tons of hours into it. The pipe actually works great. It pulls hard starting from the lower mid range, with a hard hit around 6K and it keeps pulling on top. Plenty of over rev and no perceivable drop off. Keep in mind i haven't touched the jetting since I literally guessed at the initial settings. I haven't even touched the mixture screws. I am sure the performance will be even better with a little fine tuning. I am hoping that with a little work I can get the pipe to tuck up and look as nice as it works. Besides....it sounds awesome!!!
