  1. Sorry, but I was away all last week for the annual vintage 2 stroke street bike gathering at Deal's Gap. A quick follow up.... I spoke to Evan. He was away on business for a bit, but as soon as he realized I was looking for him he called me. He answered the questions I had and all is good. He is ramping up production a bit and will be filling orders for product people are waiting on ASAP. Yes...I am Vintage Smoke. I no longer have a retail shop and I am working out of a shop at my house. I am specializing in vintage 2 stroke street bikes (mostly RD350 and RD400). If there is anything I can help you guys out with let me know! I am also pretty active at 2StrokeWorld.com www.VintageSmoke.com
  2. I need to reach out to them and I have been calling all week, but they don't have a voice mail to leave a message. I tried e-mailing and even sending them a message on facebook, but have gotten no response. Are they on vacation, out of business, or ?
  3. I have no idea. I left in 2004 and moved back to NJ.
  4. Here's a link to the build thread. Any real progress starts on page 4. Years ago I used to work for Metal Tech building A-Arms. You can see the influence in my engine cradle/mounts. A couple of the tabs I used were actually A-Arm shock mounting tabs I trimmed down a bit. http://www.2strokeworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=13533.45
  5. I have 2 crappy ones so far that a friend filmed. I plan on getting a better vid soon. I wasn't getting on it too much since it was my first ride on a fresh motor.
  6. Thanks!! I have been thinking of painting that on the tank!!
  7. A couple of reasons. I was approaching a deadline and needed something to get me on the road. I had been planning the trip to Deals Gap for months and was running out of time. I have a set of FMF's I was considering using, but the work to reconfigure them is crazy. Remember....Banshee pipes curl up and over when exiting the exh port which is the exact opposite of a street bike.....unless I wanted to run them through the gas tank!! LOL I actually considered DG RZ350 pipes, but I knew they wouldn't be optimal and I would probably need to cut out a lot of the lower fairing. I liked the idea of a 2 into 1 since when I get the time to tuck it up properly I will be more likely to be able to hide it in the fairing. I was worried whether or not a 2 into 1 would work well, but that pipe was designed by Slinger of GPL Racing as an experiment of sorts for a friends radically ported RZ350 race bike. It actually worked pretty well on his bike and their final conclusion was that it would work great on a bike with less radical porting which is exactly what I had. I was able to fit it and get on the road with a minimal amount of work. If the pipe wound up not working well at least I wouldn't have tons of hours into it. The pipe actually works great. It pulls hard starting from the lower mid range, with a hard hit around 6K and it keeps pulling on top. Plenty of over rev and no perceivable drop off. Keep in mind i haven't touched the jetting since I literally guessed at the initial settings. I haven't even touched the mixture screws. I am sure the performance will be even better with a little fine tuning. I am hoping that with a little work I can get the pipe to tuck up and look as nice as it works. Besides....it sounds awesome!!!
  8. Are you saying that RZ pipes work well on Banshee motors? Even without power valves?
  9. It's very low i meant.
  10. They're very low. I haven't had a chance to properly mount the exhaust yet. I dragged it coming out of the parking lot on my first ride!!
  11. Thanks!! Well...more than double the horsepower and at least 50 pounds lighter.... It goes really nice!!
  12. I thought you guys might like this. It's a 2010 Ninja 250 with a Banshee motor. The build thread is on www.2strokeworld.com but it is down right now (happens once in a while). I will post a link to the build thread when it goes back up! The pic is below and here is a link to my photobucket album on the bike. The pics are in no particular order and most of them are for my reference, but there is some cool stuff in there. http://s250.photobucket.com/user/BlacksmithCycles1/library/EX350?sort=3&page=1
  13. Look at a different processing company. If you user Quick Books for billing/accounting look at their service. It is by far one of the cheapest. It also runs each transaction on line with no extra cc machine. No batching either. You create an account for each customer, create an invoice for parts or service, and when you run the card you just apply the payment to a particular invoice and it marks it as paid. Or if the payment is a deposit you can leave it on their account as a credit for them. I don't understand how that is happening to you. With AVS(Address Verification) these days it checks it for you. They match the address you type in when you process the card to the billing address that the customer has on file with the cc company. If you are shipping the parts to the same address that the cc company sends their bills to it will be hard to dispute. I know that when i process cards manually (not swiped..manually keyed in) through QB that the address, zip code, and code on the back have to match or it won't let it go through. It also gives me a ittle pop up each time i run a card telling me that it was a match. If your cc service uses AVS and you ONLY ship to the billing address on the credit card account then it should protect you. Unless they say that they never got the parts and that is where shipping insurance comes in.
  14. I don't have much luck with the search function on here. I tried searching for CDI earlier (unrelated) and came up with NO results. I searched for racetech stator, race tech stator, and even just race tech or racetech. I got one result and it didn't say much about the product. Am I missing something or is this a fairly new product? I need a stator and it looks very promising.
  15. It looks nice and very reasonably priced as well!! http://racetechelectric.com/n-5824-racetech-electric-yamaha-banshee-dc-conversion-stator-replacement.html
  16. AK reccomended an octane rating for the compression you are running. Keep in mind that different countries calculate octane differently!! You may have to do some math to convert US octane ratings to what your country uses.
  17. I have a nice set of VM34 round slides for sale. These are not snomobile carbs. I got them for a project, but went in another direction. $100. Located in NJ 07461.
  18. Toothless.... Sorry guys...nothing beats a gum job!!
  19. Not bein a wise ass here..... So what you are saying is that on the 3 bikes you run an FS on the owners liked them so much that they wouldn't want to ride the bike if they had to go back to stock CDI's? They must really make a differance! So...what kind of riding are you talking about and what kind of curves in the CDI? Stockish bikes with one of the pre programmed curves or hot motors with custom made curves?
  20. You can't go wrong with any of the site sponsors. They will do excellent work and they are American businesses as well.
  21. Item #320615496579 is for a set of golf clubs. They are very nice clubs, but I don't think it is in the rules to sell golf clubs in the bamshee only section LOL!!
  22. www.mcmastercarr.com or fastenal.com
