TIM LUTZ Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Just thought I’d throw this out there. Bike isn’t even off the trailer yet. See mods in sig. Ran great all weekend then riding around before I put it on the trailer and started bogging right off idle. Idles fine but as soon as you give it any gas it bogs and will not rev at all at even at WOT. No popping or backfiring just sounds like a weed eater at WOT before it’s warmed up. Swapped plugs (looked really fat) and made sure carbs were getting gas then rolled her on the trailer. Motor is fresh with new crank seals. I’m thinking it has to be the CDI or Coil or a sheered crank key. What do you all think? Quote
Infamous039 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 What size carbs are u running ??? I would play with your air screws and maybe lower your pilots to see if it clear up. Also check to make sure your filters are not clogged. Quote
TIM LUTZ Posted June 7, 2011 Author Report Posted June 7, 2011 Running 30mm OKO powerjet carbs. This condition happened all of a sudden like flipping a switch. Quote
Infamous039 Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Check your coil make sure that your ground and positive wires are on tight. Im sure some of the very knowledgable mechanics will chime in with better ideas. Quote
putzer Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 its most likely your parking brake wire by the clutch they come loose, but thats what it dose the bike will idle but when you give it gas i dosnt do a thing jggle the wire and see if it will go or disconect it Quote

Same thing is happening to mine. like you have said its like turning a switch. i when't riding all week and the next morning it was idling fine but as soon i gave it gas it bogged out . like you have said it wont rev even after letting it warm up. i did the same thing as you did, i check the plugs, clean the carbs and fuel is getting to the engine but nothing work't . there is no modification on the bike, it's bore over to .40 that's the only exception. i still didn't fine a cure for this pain in the a** . so if you or anyone out there knows whats wrong please tell. Thanks again guys Quote
sleeper06 Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Tim your a knowledgable guy you should be able to figure it out no problem, parking brake sw is an ignition kill, key sheared has a distinct sound too,you sound like your having a fuel problem like a stuck float broken reed, is it backfiring?justy shooten some thoughts Quote
Debo Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) Check your reeds. Had the exact same problem on my 10mill a few weeks ago. Found a few warped reed petals on the left cylinder. Edited June 9, 2011 by Debo Quote
5.0bronco Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 check your air filter! mine did that a few weeks ago and come to find out all it was the air filter. i even rode it the day before with no problems at all and the next day it wouldent run worth a shit. Quote

ban565 Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Starting in the mid 90s if there is to much play in your clutch lever it will do same thing. Quote
TIM LUTZ Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Posted June 10, 2011 Is this parking brake and clutch thing tied into the CDI and act like a 2000 RPM rev limiter? I was thinking a cracked reed also but seems to be the same condition on each cylinder. I’ve been busy ordering parts for a 383 stroker SB Chevy build and haven’t even messed with it. Pretty cool to run Wiseco’s in your Shee AND your Chevy. I’ll get’er worked out this weekend and post back. Thanks all. Quote
Debo Posted June 10, 2011 Report Posted June 10, 2011 If it's a reed then you may or may not know which cylinder until you take it apart. In my case I could just barely see and feel a difference in the exhaust. But I had a friend last year with the exact same issue I had (same type of motor actually) and he couldn't tell a difference between the two. Just have to yard off the carbs and take a peek. I was able to see it right away. Other times you can't. Good luck and let us know what you find! Quote
