Stellar Performance
I just wanted to let my friends, clients, future clients know that I had an accident in the shop on Thursday (9/23) morning. The accident involved me breaking 3 fingers on my left hand which will slow down my production/turn around time for a bit. I have alot of work right now and I am going to keep working to the best of my abilities. I still plan on making the LS trip in October as well (cant bail on my BHQ crew). I appreciate any and all understanding on the matter at hand (no pun intended).....lol. This will however give me a better chance to be able to respond to emails/pm's quicker and have less missed calls. Sincerely, Tim Wible Stellar Machine and Performance

Stellar Performance
Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts. Today wasnt too horrible. Once I got in the mind set to make the best of the situation I found myself working away as usual but with limited grip. I have always had an extremely high tolerance for pain, so it definitely helps in my situation. I have an appointment with the orthopedic specialist moday morning to get a better idea of whats going to be the best fix. Hopefully I get some good news. Right now my finger is many shades of reds and purple due to the bruising, and the swelling is rediculous.

rubberneck
Tim, hope you recover quickly, that really sucks. What were you doing? which machine got ya.. Ive had some pretty close calls but have been lucky enough to escape serious injury, knock on wood. I damn near got sucked into the lathe the other day, that would have been ugly. Drill presses are my favorite, got a glove caught in one and that hurt. Grinders have removed real estate from my arms more than once, and Nothing better than finishing a weld and then reaching over and grabbing the part, for some reason im famous for that. Get better soon

Stellar Performance
For the inquiring minds.....lol. We were chamfering some 5/8 square aluminum bars on the manual lathe to prep to go into the cnc Lathe. I was simply supporting the 12' long bar about 2 feet from the end. I had really heavy duty arch welding type gloves on to protect my hands from getting beat up. On the 4th bar the material grabbed onto a loose part of the glove and started to suck my hand in. Instinctively I naturally pulled my hand away but the glove was already hooked. Luckily a majority of the glove shredded apart but as I pulled away so hard and fast, my fingers were still stuck in the glove, twisting them as I pulled away. It happened so fast I didnt even think any damage was done. Then I noticed the shredded glove wrapped around the material.....uh oh. I looked at my hands palms up and they looked fine. I had no pain so I thought nothing of it. Then I looked again, palms down and noticed that my left ring finger was cocked to the left......that cant be good. I grabbed it and was able to wobble it left and right with no resistance....yup, its broke. Luckily my father was there and immediately said, get that ring off now! Within a minute of pulling the ring, the knuckle swelled up huge. Still no pain, I was getting ready to drive myself to go getted them looked at, but thats when I broke into a head to toe sweat and a nautious feeling....uh oh, shock!!! Damnit!!! Wife came and picked me up and went to Urgent Care. Xrays showed I broke my left ring finger at the larger middle knuckle, fractured my pinky finger at the tip and fractured my middle finger between the large knuckle and the hand. My hand is swollen where those three fingers meet it, so I probably pulled some parts as well. I guess I will have to wait and see what the specialist says on monday....yay!!! rubberneck
SHIT, thats scary, in my earlier post i said almost got sucked in. Well i was doing about the same damn thing luckily the glove didnt catch too bad and i escaped. Thats when my old man chewed my ass for using gloves around the lathe which i know better. get better man. I once had to cut the wedding ring off my buddies finger with dykes after he dropped a turbo 350 tranny on it. Ever since then i dont wear any jewelry in the shop. crazy shit man.
