DIY clean up - porting.

Okay here we go.

My compression was 110 and 115psi and I was thinking that it was time to new bore and hone. It´s going to be 64.5mm Wiseco pro lites.

I was thinking that now it´s perfect time to do some clean up to my ports.

I didn´t have any good tools and they need some sand paper for polishing the exhaust and to smooth things in an intakes.

I don´t know about the durations or what so ever, but exhaust is raised ~1.5mm and it´s 3mm wider than stock.

 

 

Let me know what you think? Are they OK and good for some more power or are they fucked up?

I don't see anything that is alarming and should give you some more power. Make sure to chamfer all your ports and then hone the cylinder bore when you are done, in that order. Failure to properly chamfer ports causing piston failures and eventual piston mfg blaming..

I´m only looking a little more power over stock ports.

 

My first plan was to send these cylinders to Fast or HJR and get them dune/play or Trail ported, but then I was reading over here that they were so busy that it would take 3 to 4 months to get them back. That is too long for me to wait.

I found one pro over here in Finland. He promised anything around 60HP and good torque, but he also told me that he wasn´t familiar with these cylinders. He asked 600€ (895$) for the job ( porting only).

Now I´m so angry to myself.

Well... everybody makes mistakes.

Not to knock the two companies you mentioned but there are other places that do great work. And some will ship out w/ in two weeks of getting it.

i shipped my cylinders out to kevin around this same time last year and got them back within 10 days.

What kinda cost go into a good port job? I will have to rebuild my topend. So would it be smarter to send out my jugs to get the pistons and port and all done from say F.A.S.T all at the same time?

I sent a pair of Self ported jugs to Kevingand he could still work with them. Mine barely had any port lift/enlargement, so it was easy to still do any kind of port. Looked like yours, but like I said, I didnt ift the exaust port. It was about a 2 week turn around, and did more work than I expected
