blackedout96 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 Time to buy a new chain and sprockets and wanting to hear some opinions on what to buy.... I have a stock cylinder stock stroke with drag port, lightened flywheel, +4 timing, shaved head, 30 over wisecos, 34mm alkys, VF2 reeds, and RDZ(shearer) inframes. Wanting to be competitive in 300ft and still be able to do some trail riding. From what I've read in searching this topic I'm thinking of going with 15/42.... what's everyone think? Quote
LS1Inferno Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 why on earth are you going to run a drag ported bike in the trails. Quote
blackedout96 Posted March 14, 2009 Author Report Posted March 14, 2009 why on earth are you going to run a drag ported bike in the trails. I'll admit it's not the easiest thing in the world to do, but I can't afford two quads and I love drag racin.... it does pretty well out there. Quote

Competitive, Hell I allready thought you were! I still think the stock 14/41 is the best all round gearing. Thats what I have, but thats jmo. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 i personally have sprockets from 14-17 and 40-44. i can make any combination of gearing ratios i want. i wouldnt have it any other way. primary drive sprockets from RMATV are cheap. grab you a few. Quote
BansheeRider87 Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I just got 15-41 sprockets and new chain Quote

I'll definitely keep the 14/41's around just in case I don't like the new set up. i personally have sprockets from 14-17 and 40-44. i can make any combination of gearing ratios i want. i wouldnt have it any other way. primary drive sprockets from RMATV are cheap. grab you a few. For sure man, Rocky Mountain has a pretty decent promo right now with cheap shipping and huge discounts.... might just have to grab a couple different combinations. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 id get a 14 and 15 for the front and a 40 and 42 for the rear. try this. it might help you get an idea of how fast youll be going in each gear with different sprocket combos. http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm Quote
sheerider1026 Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 not really sure.. i just run whatever.. and shift like a motherfucker!! Quote

RagunCajun Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 I favor stock gearing. It takes some big power to get the most out of even 1 tooth bigger front. Quote
