Where can i find a good aftermarket clutch basket. the price dont matter much but i`m not looking for one of them Hinson baskets w/the springs inside the hub. i`m just looking for a good aftermarket w/the oil groves. what do you run? and why?

magnum is a very good basket. i had one in my 4mm cub and now my 10mm cub. it shows no signs of wear after 3 years.

there is no need to spend 600 bucks on that hinson basket. thats just ridiculous. the magnum ones are $150.

I love my hinson. I only have the basket tho i still gotta get the hup. just using the stock one for now. works perfect.

I even had a hub break on me awhile back. the screws, springs, and pieces of aluminum went everywere, there were some scratches on the basket but nothing major. if that would have happened with a stock basket it probably would have taken it out too.

Why are you anti Hinson?

I dont think he is anti Hindson. He just doesnt want to spend 600 for the Hindson with the Springs. I am sure he would be fine with a Hindson basket with the poly or rubber coushins.

it's got straight cut gears and they replaced the rubber cushions with the springs so your not supposed to have to strip it down and swap out the cushions when they get beat down...

Bingo... Hinson sells that basket with the straight cut gears attached. I dont think they sell the spring loaded basket without the straight cut gears. I could be wrong thow.

I've got one of those also. There nice! Its a lot of money, but if your spending 5gs on a motor anyways what's another $600. Lol

I`m not anti hinson but i know what they run for and i`m not about that but thanks. i`ll look into the Magnum and see what i can find.

I bought a Hinson / straight cut clutch, but had fitment issues.

It seems the basket was a few thou to thick. I could only get the main nut hand tight, then it wouldn't turn freely.

I bought it from cascade innovations, They said some baskets that they have seen have needed a couple thou trimmed.

They got it taken care of for free and it works great! Plus you can hear that straight cut gear spinning which sounds pretty cool.
