Keyser Soze Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Me and T-shee are driving 10 hours round trip to pick up a 87 tecate 4 tomorrow. From what I have seen it is in very good condition, the guy says it is in great shape. It needs a rear brake caliper and an airfilter. I know these are very hard to find. Would it be possible to trade it heads up for a banshee? Should I just hang on to it? I just picture me rolling it down a hill and looking for parts for the rest of my life. brian Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I dont think anyone would trade it for a banshee unless the banshee is all screwed up. If it runs good it would probably be fun to ride. I had an 85 Tecate ATC that was ported and piped. It was pretty fast and fun to ride, but it didn't even compare to a piped banshee and was alot lighter. There are alot of Kawi guys out there that would probably like to have it tho. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 id build a jump. then run the tecate off it in 5th wide open. get video. report back. Quote

My motor builder is the nations tecate guru. He has 3 complete bikes, and 2 more he is still putting together. I would bet he can help you get the parts. Quote
Meat Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 rear caliper and air filter shouldn't be that hard to find. worst case scenario you use a rear caliper from another quad model. Id keep it, its a rare quad and there's many out there that are still running. That white one for $1500 is nice, the guy did a nice job cleaning it up and it looks good. Quote

Fireroad Express Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 i like them. you don't see many around and they're probably becoming hard to find. i'd keep it just to have. maybe to restore or just to run every once in a while. Quote
banshee_terror_ Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 get it and keep it in the garage for like another 5 to 10 years. then it would be worth alot more. Quote
