Dick Wheels
OK, Just got my carbs in the mail today. They have 155mains, 45 pilots and LGN needles on the 2nd to bottom clip. Where should i start with these. Also if i use stock intakes with crossover tube, will they kit the clutch lever?
BellicoseBanshee
OK, Just got my carbs in the mail today. They have 155mains, 45 pilots and LGN needles on the 2nd to bottom clip. Where should i start with these. Also if i use stock intakes with crossover tube, will they kit the clutch lever? As far as the needle, a JJH seems to be the one sticking out in my mind (I have never used 28PWKs). I am not sure if the 28PWKs will work with the stock intakes, but I am not positive on that one. I am sure someone with more 28PWK knowledge will be more help than I am... EDIT: I just did a search using the key words "28mm PWK jetting." There are a few you might be able to use to help you get it close. Click me.

dragbanshee
Thanks for the link man. i started looking threw the pages and there is so much scattered info its crazy. Whats everybody currently running with winter and cold weather here Im 800 asl and run 160 & 50 bored to 30mm though and as for the clutch arm its sooo close you'd be better off using spacers or??? and needle on 4th from top rich. I think I would step up the pilot to atleast 50 for winter and 160 if you have it, for the main. Then again I have pods, I think you would be safe to go with what you got and go from there.

Dick Wheels
is it normal for the slides to not fully open all the way on the 28's? i know on the 34's and 35 I had the slide would basically disappear when fully open and the 28's do not. they also have a very short throw with the throttle
Dick Wheels
C'mon guys give up the info! I know there are a few of you on here that can just look at my mods and practically get me dead on.
hercalmighty
What you have now sounds about right. If anything jump up on the main to be safe. I'm pretty sure my slides go all the way up on my 28's so check into that.
Dick Wheels
When I move the slides by hand there is still probably a 1/4 inch showing and they don't fully disappear. Its weird cause a set of 34 i had and the single 35 I had the slides would both fully disappear when fully open
hercalmighty
I would check and see whats holding them up because they should be totally opened. If I get a chance I will double check mine.
Dick Wheels
ok sounds great thanks alot. Also do the needles just "sit in there" or is there something like in the bigger carbs to hold it in tight
hercalmighty
Its a goofy setup that holds mine in and I dont know what the bigger carbs have
