How long would it take my topend to blow

How long would it take my top end to blow if my air boots were cracked and I didn't know. When I bought my banshee I found out within the first few rides up and down my yard that they were cracked. I'm just trying to figure out if theres a chance the pistons could of burned up a little when it was running extremely lean.

Pull the plugs. They should be a chocolate brown. Black would be rich, and white would be lean. Do a plug chop if you don't know. Here's a chart to go by.

depends on how bad the cracks are and how long they have been there. the previous owner could have riddn it that way for awhile but may have had it running rich. which could have compensated a little.

Do a compression test, that will give you an idea of how much life is left in the bore, and if you have any problems now.

the best way is to run it wide open in 6th for about a mile or so. if it blows up, well then you need a new topend and the cracks must have been bad. if it doesnt blow up youre fine and you should ride it like you stole it!!

loco has an answer for everyone. Prob.just fix the leaks,do the comp.test and check the plugs.Then if all passes then do like loco suggests,and ride it like you stole it!

Just because there cracked doesnt always mean there sucking air. I would replace them but i wouldnt worry about it unless its running lean. I have a nice used set i will sell you for 25 shipped if interested.
