banshee_thrasher Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 my friend thinks his artic cat 1000 work horse is faster than a banshee, i thought a banshee would own him but i couldnt find any videos to prove him wrong. i was wondering if any one new the answer. Quote
bansheejoel Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 i know that can am outlander 800's rip pretty damn good. I wouldnt say it cant beat a banshee for damn sure. stock for stock the cat will prolly get ya untill top end. But i dont think its fair to say that they cant beat a banshee Quote
ex400 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 if you just have piped banshee that thing will walk all over you. those artic cat make huge power Quote
shanYE west Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 lol 1 liter quads... who woulda thought it.. lol Quote
jamebo Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I read an article awhile back on them and Arctic cat is claiming they are the fastest accelerating production quad made. (stock for stock) I don't know, I've never ridden one.... but that is a heck of alot of motor, though! Quote
docjcwatson Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 He would tap that ass and giggle like a giddy little school girl while he was doing it. This is ofcourse assuming it is stock for stock. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 just run him off the road. thats prolly the only way a stock banshee would win. Quote
Keyser Soze Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Not a bad way to spend 13k. Throw 13k at a shee and it wont stand a chance. Id hate to roll or flip one of those. Quote
278 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 yeah a 1000 has alot of power, the yamaha 1000 sled motors run 120-150hp stock depending on model, but if its a 2-stroke your lookin at around 140 minimum so yeah stock for stock I think it will take a shee Quote
Tedder Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) We have a 1000 Artic Cat that runs in our bike class all the time. Other than a narrow track and an aftermarket muffler box it's bone stock. A mild Banshee doesn't stand a chance against it. Edited October 8, 2008 by Tedder Quote

Just trow $1000 bucks at your shee that will give him a run for his money Quote
Tedder Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Just trow $1000 bucks at your shee that will give him a run for his money A stock Banshee would take way more than a grand to compete. That sled with a 160# rider will do low 10.30's on a good day. Quote

Are we talking $1000 all retail products, or private party purchases? By avoiding retailers and buying private I did about $1000 worth of work for around $700. So saying a "stock banshee with $1000 thrown at it can't compete" is not a valid argument. Quote
jjn56 Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 you have a banshee - you have a freind with a thunder cat - go race him and come back and tell us who won. Quote

I think he's talking about the new fuel injected 1000cc Arctic Cat ATV. Those things probably top out at 80-85 mph..I'm not sure a piped Banshee wants any of it on top end, much less out of the hole. A great rider and a great running piped Banshee might have a chance against it. Some run better than others with the same mods, thats just a fact. Quote
