shanYE west Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 I haven't tried alot of pipes on my 450. Started off with the GYTR because at that time.. That was the ONLY exhaust made. But it wasn't bad. I use a DR Fatboy 4 now and I like it.. Can't tell you if its better then any of the other ones out there.. Quote
F.BEJARANO Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Curtis sparks is the best compatable for the yfz. Go to yfzcentral.com and youll find everything you need to know about that thing. I have a white bros. carbon pro on mine and this thing runs hard! i love it plus it looks good. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Damn, another one lost to the Thumper Army. Nice bike though, if I knew how to work on a 4 stroke, I might give one a go. Quote
omalavet Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 The original YFZ tires hooks up much better than the maxxis, they are radials, but way to soft and do not last like***. I prefer the maxxis also, but damn wish those dunlops would lasts longer.. yeah but for corss country and enduro racing they wont work so well Quote
dragbanshee Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 My buddy has an hmf full race on his 450 and man is that thing loud it sounds great though. Another pipe people may not know about is the Toomey, they make it for yfz. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 i bought the cheapest one i could find.. a trinity pipe.. there are very little differences in the pipes for the yfz450.. Quote
blanco25 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I've had Dg bullet, yosh, and trinity. To be honest with you I like the sound of the trinity stage IV exhaust. I raced my buddy and the same shit was done to the bikes except for exhaust. He had fmf i had trinity and it seemed like my bike was alot faster. The trinity seemed to pull harder. He is 170 and im 220. And i would beat him everytime. But when i bought my yosh carbon fiber, i only had it two weeks before the bike was stolen so i only rode it once. maybe it needed to be jetted better.I beleive trinity is having a sale on their full exhaust system. And dont just do a slip on. Quote
shogs Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I got a dr d slip on on my z400 and I like the power and love the sound. Quote
onebanshee Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 My bro has a HMF and that would be my FIRST choice as well. Easy to maintain, awesome power, and sounds great. One of my buddies races and builds a lot of quads and his favorite for the YFZ is the HMF. I would strongly recommend it. ONE Quote

GTYR header pipe and muffler 100% dyno proven ./// have the carb modified and jetted for the pipe ... thats all you need .. not many shops do the carb mod .. (increase reponce , big time and overall power) Quote

BB3 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 the 09's are fuel injected and that bike has a 39mm fcr on it. As far as pipes nmotions inframe is awesome and makes alot of power. Quote
bansheejoel Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Ron Woods!!! i second that! one of my buddies has a ron woods exhaust on his 450 and it sounds badass Quote
