  1. Yep, the diameter and the taper both affect 1/4 throttle. I've tried CGL, CEL, CEK, CEJ, DEJ, and now the EEJ. Strokers really love the fuel on the bottom, but not the pilots....
  2. Ballpark 175 mains, 42-45 pilot, needle 4th clip, this maybe 2 sizes too rich, but you can work down from there..
  3. The intake actually has a rubber teflon sprayed inside the ports. Its all black and smooth inside the intakes. the exhaust is just stock....I think the head mods w/ the mid pipes just work well together...
  4. When you get the pipes, give us a report and comparison of the 2 pipes. thanks.
  5. You need to do a wot test in 6th gear. It has more of a load and will throw your jetting off. If your lean at 4th gear, then you definately have to go up on the mains w/ 6th gear. I'd throw in some 370 mains before you do your next testing. Better to be rich and work down. Your pilot should be very close if not perfect. If it starts right up warm and might need a choke when cold then your perfect. Try raising the needles for shits and giggles. Your shee will either pull way harder or it'll spit and sputter, no inbetween. You have some homework now...
  6. Go to post #7, you have some homework to do...
  7. Don't go by websites. They are all off. Especially fmf websites... Try that suggestion and do a plug reading and post a pic. Make sure you do a wide open run in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, shut it down, coast to a stop, take a pic of the plugs or replace them w/ new one and bring the old ones home to post a pic...We'll help you get that shee dialed in spot on..
  8. I rode a shee w/ them, very well tuned in. Good low end, great pull throughout. They are nice all around pipes when jetted properly. I'd have to agree that they are very comparable to the fatties.
  9. He took the words out of my mouth.....Don't be afraid to go richer than those needles either. I'm going to try a EEJ next week.
  10. I just rebuilt the tranny in a raptor, put a cam in it, exhaust, intake, got it started. Reacted the same way, looked around and found the black box. Whalla, problem solved...Yamaha has them on the Raptors also...
  11. tors, disconnect the 3-wire plug from the black box. I don't know where they are located on the blaster, but it'll have one. Also tell him to disconnect the parking brake switch to...
  12. I played w/ JKJK's shee at dumont and his shee was running a 350 main, needle at 4th clip from blunt end, stock pilot. He has the same mods as you...
  13. Plug color should be dark brown to a black color on normal riding, but should lighten up to a brown color at wot...Have you checked the plugs after running it wide open throttle (wot) in 6th for 5-10 seconds?? Post a pic. I'd also try richening the needles, if that helps then go another clip. Trial and error.
  14. Hard to say which pipe will be better, but I know that LRD suggest only 28's taper bored to 30's for their motors.....look on their website. lrdperformance.com
  15. I'd spend $20 on a compression tester and see how much compression you have in the cylinders. You also might want to make sure you carb bowls haven't been swapped. Only one bowl can feed the choke on the left carb. Then make sure you have the choke tube in place between the carbs, (1/4"x2" long), then make sure the slides in the carbs aren't backwards, cutaway should face the air box...
  16. PUll the air box cover off or cut the last 1.5" off the end of it so you still have all 4 clips, try a 320 mains, stock pilot, and try different needle positions. Once you find the best needle position, run it wde open throttle in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, shut it down , coast to a stop and pull the plugs, take a pic of them or put new ones in and keep the old plugs. Post a pic on here. We can tell you if your rich or lean on the mains by looking at the plugs, and can explain better why. Also take note of how well it starts cold and warm and whether you need the choke or not, this will help us determine your pilot jets. Now you have some homework to do.
  17. I'd get the Noss head, maybe woods port, timing key +4, boysen petals, if your still not satisfied,, then go w/ some Ptr mid pipes. They will definately do everything your looking for alone, but are pricey. I have these pipes and love them. Almost no power hit, smooth and pull hard as hell. I pull a 16/42 gear w/ no problems and have a top end of about 88mph. This is w/ stock porting.
  18. I AM ONLY REVIEWING INFRAME PIPES ON STOCK ENGINES! Bills Pipes As I look on their site and around the net it doesn
  19. YOu know your hardcore when your on the HQ on X-mas!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!
  20. might have to lean the needle one clip, depending if you were perfect before.
  21. But its easier to heat it up then to jet it, and make sure everything is right.....
  22. magicracing.com buy the jets separately, kits are useless
  23. Its only 6-7 weeks away, so don't wait too long to make plans. I'll let you try my shee out w/ the stroker, so far it has the most low end of any stroker that I've ridden w/ a close second to Fixitrods...but it still isn't like before...I'll keep searching for that power, I have no choice now, I know what I'm missing. See ya in Glamis!!!! Go to the events forum under "East coast riders up for Glamis"
