  1. I don't ride sleds, but I found these via Google: http://www.hardcoresledder.com http://www.amsnow.com Good luck!
  2. If you are a gear head wrench turning fool who knows what you're looking at buy the used one. If you are a good rider and get someone else to do your maintenance buy the new one. That's how I decided to buy a new one and I am very happy... Bottom line is "stock" used Banshees are rare (someone said that on here recently). It is comparatively cheap to make them go fast. These days there is a lot of peer pressure to beat four-pokes and most of the new big bore four-pokes can beat a stock Banshee. Put those two together and: If the person making the modifications knew what they were doing you are fine. If they didn't... I would not trust the seller unless you know them personally. I try to keep a good relationship with my dealership, but have still been bent over a few times (my opinion). -Bill
  3. Hi Rhino: There is a popular web site with a large Honda format/following. The address is http://www.exriders.com. I would suggest you try there first. A second option might be http://www.atvconnection.com. Good luck! -Bill
  4. TORS = Thought Of Removing Something (so I did). This Only Ruins Stuff Throttle On - Retired Setting
  5. No good choice for me. The voting choices look like they were selected by the person who did the crime and received the ticket... I mean there is nothing in there about "People who drive sportscars are naturally wreckless", but you provide us with an avenue to make the same grossly incorrect assumption about all law enforcement officers. Chances are you could have been coming into a town that is notorious for being a speed trap. There are many - all over. When I lived in Arkansas it was illegal for a community to gain more than a certain percentage of their revenue from such situations. However, if you live in such a state they probably will tear up all the tickets issued to soccer moms in mini-vans, even call them personally and tell them not to appear, just to make budget room for the sports cars. This is no different then the guy who writes about running from the police on his Banshee only to be caught and have it impounded. If you do the crime chances are you're going to do the time. Well, unless you're initials are O.J. or M.J. -Bill
  6. Hi Andyman: If you don't get many responses it's because the Banshee is a two-stroke liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine. I suggest you check with a four-stroke air-cooled forum. Someone over at http://www.exriders.com might be a good start since it's also a Honda. I think the ubiquitous 400ex is largely just a bigger bore and stroke version of what you have. Although I think the latest version is oil cooled. Good luck! (On-other-hand, if you get tons of responses I'm an idiot. There that should inspire people here to help you out... ) -Bill
  7. Happy Birthday! Uhhh, I thought coming to the HQ to worship Banshees was "church services"?
  8. Nice. Did you write it? And I mean originally...
  9. That is a neat ski suspension support system! I haven't seen that before. Although Saint Louis is as far North as I have lived since graduating high school. Which brings me to another point: What is all that white stuff on the ground? Where are the action snowmobile photos? I'm getting the idea you guys just park'em and stand around with your helmet visors up....
  10. Good jokes, but I'm betting against it...
  11. Do not let him know it has everything you want. He'll "see you coming". Pretend you want something different... all that jazz. I think most people call it negotiating. I'd have him put that "make it right" warranty in writing. Talk is cheap.
  12. Just for curiosity... we are talking about a three-wheeler... Honda ATC... here right? What years did they make a 250X? I recall a friend had an 1984 200X and I still see people with a 350X now and again. Those were sport ATCs. I also recall a 250SX which was more like a utility machine - the "Big Red" with racks and such. So, what was a 250X like? -Bill
  13. I don't live in Pennsylvania any more, but now I know what they are doing with the sleds when there isn't enough snow. I'd hate to be the one who has to clean the mud out of the track mechanism after a race. I did some quick math and that seems like an average speed of over 60 mph across 500 feet. That means the trap speed could be as quick as 125 mph! If that is from a stop that is pretty damn quick! Not having gears defination provides an advantage on something like that. I would think the drag of the skis would slow them down, compared to snow, but then again I forgot two things: 1. In snow the belt slips more. 2. At these races the skis probably aren't touching the ground!
  14. Anyone have the video? The link is now broken...
  15. Wow! I never thought I'd hear a Texan say anything was too big or too tall... See here in Missouri they already grow half as big as airplanes fly...
  16. Thanks Brooke! You answered it without ruing it for everyone. I am really disappointed in everyone else. I mean, damn, everyone knows THERE IS NO F'IN WAY to make a four stroke better than a Banshee.
  17. You guys all suck! I miss riding snowmobiles. It's so smooth. The closest I can get these days is riding a waverunner on "glass" water. A waverunner turns/banks like a sled in deep snow too. I wish I lived someplace that could spell S-N-O-W! I will again someday. I grew up in the Northeast riding sleds as a kid. Now my family says they don't even get enough snow to ride sleds more than once or twice a year.
  18. How do you make a four-stroke better than a Banshee? 1. Take two words: Four and Way. 2. Remove the F from the word four. 3. Remove the F from the word way. 4. There you have the answer!
  19. Ages 6 and up? I'm not old enough for the Radio Shack one...
  20. The environmentalists have really gotten out of control. I am watching Modern Marvels and they just said bird strikes are more of a problem to airplanes now then ever - here is the good part: "due in part to the proliferation of many species that used to be endangered". A lot of thanks we get for saving their endangered a$$, eh? They cause our planes to crash... Let's not ride ATVs in the National Forests. We wouldn't want to cause erosion of delicate tree roots for example. As thanks maybe the trees will grow so tall we can't fly our planes over them.. .
  21. We are probably going to lose more riding areas soon.... CLICKY
  22. If you are on a sled why not get the ones that plug-in?
  23. I have yet to meet a cat I enjoyed having near me, but this is too much.
  24. I'm thinking it would be a whole lot easier to advertise they are going to bring back two-strokes and let them ride on national forest land. Then shoot all the tree-huggin' sum bitches that show up to protest.
