whatever you use, you want to make sure that it is "Non Friction Modified". If you look at the back of the QT it will say if it has friction modifiers or not. Friction modifiers lessen the amount of grab in the clutch and make it slip. ATF Type F you don't have to worry about. Most of the car engine oils have Friciton Modifiers. I think Castrol GTX (in either 10-40 or 10-30 one of them is FM free) is one without FM's. I've used just about everything besides the expensive bike shop oil's. ATF runs great and shift's easy, but it likes to leak if you have poor seals. I usually now sitck with car grade 10W30 or equivelant.... never had any prob's!

I'm not saying that the T-5 has loads of low end. I like the amount of low end that it has, I just don't want to have any less low end. I only ride sand and I can't stand having to shift every other second. The t-5's allow me to lug it around when needed. I just want to make sure the rocket's would allow this as well..... Also, Anyone have any opinions on the chrome on the rockets. The quality of chrome makes the pipe!!!!!!

Has anyone here ran the t-5's or t-6's and swaped to the rocket pipes? I am thinking about swaping, but I like the low end I get with the T-5's. Do the rocket's have compairable low end to the T-5's or are they just a high RPM pipe?

Dlnoss, I am finally ready (I believe) to swap to the noss head from my cool head. I'm sick in tired of this thing leaking and it has been nothing but trouble. I know my deck height is perfect so it has to be something with the head. I also had a problem with the small amount of material on the underside of the head. It began to crack and will probably break in the future. Could you provide a photo of the underside of the head. I would like to get a close up shot showing the O-Ring gooves. A close up shot showing both the O-ring grooves on the underside of the head would be appreciated... Thanks a ton.... (please PM me for a price and where to order at...)

I got you all beat. I invented taking the airbox lid off for added HP. I have the patent so when anyone does it I get like $50.00 bones. So remember, when any of you do the bitchen lid removal, send me $50.00 or your in violation of Federal Law.......

Mine did the exact same thing when I got it. Same two bolts!!! I did the helicoil thing and it worked perfectly. For some reason 20lbs seems like a lot of TQ so I usually TQ them down to about 17 just to be safe. No leakage yet!

Does anyone know if there is a significant horsepower difference between running a 32:1 oil ratio and 100:1 ratio. A buddy of mine swears by it and runs 100:1 in his mostly stock shee with only t-5's and filters. It seems as if his bike definatley has more power than most with the same mods or more. Is there a significant difference?

What is the symptom of a needle jet being too lean. My bike was sputtering a bit in the mid and I raised the clip one groove. It seemed to make it almost go away, just a little sputter left. How do I know if the needle is too lean?

I currently have a cool head which I hate. I like to check the top end of my bike at least twice a year so I am frequently taking this head off. It seems that maybe 50% of the time I get a leak somewhere. Sometimes it seals fine. I would rather go to the stock style head, get it shaved, and never have to deal with these damn O-Rings again. The question is, I'm currently running 17cc domes. What would a .030 shave on a stock head compare to? Is .030 the most that can be shaved from a stock head? thanks!

Yup.. Same thing happened to me. All I had to do is just move the shifter back and forth and pull out on it. That should put it back in place. Didn't even take the cover off!! A way to fix this is to put some washers between the shifter and the case. It keeps the shifter pulled out!

You shouldn't have to rejet for porting. Rejet usually only with air flow increases. IE Pipes, Carbs, filter system etc. If jetted significantly after the porting then that may be your prob...

I had water in my stator and it still ran great. Mine did the same thing when I bought it. My wiring harness had a frey near the airbox. The airbox has 3 fingers which hold the harness close to the box. Well these fingers wore a hole in the harness and everytime I hit water, it would make a connection. It ran exactly as you describe. Sometimes I couldn't get it to start until it was dry!. I finally found it by allowing the bike to run, then taking a garden hose and slowly soaking everything until I found the general location. Personally I think that anyone that runs from the law should be sentanced to the max. Especially if someone is hurt during the chase. It's simple cause and effect. I would be just as sick if some robber came into my wife's bank and blasted her with a shotgun. Especially to find out the police couldn't chase the suspect because of no chase laws.
