  1. "Gas" companies aren't raising prices to be dicks, or to make more money, they are raising the prices to CURB consumption. I have a buddy that has worked at a Chevron Refinery here for over 15 years, and he's clued me into some of the ins and outs of why gas costs what it does. Here, around %30 of the gasolines price is STATE and FEDERAL tax. The refineries CANNOT operate at 100% capacity. What would happen if they had a major or even a minor shut down? Everyone would notice a gas shortage due to the downed refinery. Plus, there is scheduled maintanence that has to occur, and you can't do that at 100% capacity. Tree Huggers have lobbied enough that there hasn't been any new refineries built in 25 years (Source: Heard it on Fox News about 3 months ago) If there aren't new refineries built, there can't be an increase in gasoline production. Plus, the stinking hippies have stopped drilling for the most part here. There are oil reserves near Long Beach, Anwar, etc, that we can't touch. Here in Utah, there is a possible VERY LARGE oil reserve that has been discovered with todays more modern oil finding technology. Doesn't matter much if there isn't a refinery to refine it. So, the only way to STOP consumption is to raise the fucking price to the point that we HAVE to slow it down. Asking us doesn't work. If gas was $0.40 per gallon, and they asked you to stop consuming, you'd tell them to promptly fuck off, and you'd go buy your full tank of gas. If gas is $10 per gallon, there is no way you can even afford to fill your tank, thereby, conserving what gasoline is available. The price of crude effects everything else like clothing, paint, carpet, shit that is made in America (what little there is now days) so expect an increase in those products as well plus the increase in shipping that will be there for a while. We don't really have it as bad as my parents did in the 70's Gas was $0.20 per gallon (about minimum wage or so...don't have my dad here at the moment to ask him) and it went to nearly $4.00 per gallon in some areas. It eventually came back down to around $0.50-$0.60 or so and has slowly increased until this last year. Here minimum wage is $6.75, and gas is $2.80 as I came home. I know everything else has gone up as well, but we are only comparing the price of gasoline to minimum wage. The price will come down eventually, and we should all curb our consumption as much as we can for now anyway. I'd like to place blame on groups like the Sierra Club for things like this.
  2. The town I live in is about 4-5 miles from the Great Salt Lake, and occasionally we will get a tornado around here, or water spout over the lake. Well, a month or so ago, they put out a warning for my little town that a large tornado was heading our way and suggested we move out due to unusually high winds. I was outta there as soon as I heard it. The tornado fell apart about 2 miles from my house about 20 minutes later, but at least I was out of there. I might be stupid, but I aint no fool.
  3. Little parts aint no shit. I got boxes, bags, you name it with parts in it, just for one bike. I've even managed to lose parts already
  4. That would be kind of nice. Brooke, I'm gonna build a house on top of Old Faithful. Think I could get anything for it??
  5. Break it down.
  6. I saw that too. They act like they are the only one. 500,000+ PEOPLE!! How the fuck do they expect to help everyone all at once? Jesus.....
  7. I know exactly what you're saying. WTF are they going to do with a TV full of water and now where to plug it in, and no where to even STORE IT?? Idiots. Seriously though. Its time to start dumpin on them. Causing mayhem in a state emergency should warrant that. Me and my dad were talking about how just about the only thing here that could cause that much problems would be a major earthquake. Got to be able to protect whats yours, and even though you aren't there, its still yours and it should be there when you get back. SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT!!!!
  8. Just seen on the news that looters are walking around with rifles, robbing people at gun point, stealing cars and shooting at police and guardsmen. Can't wait until tonight. Hopefully full on military will come in and take them out. I'm sure an Apache or 2 could do it. http://www.army-technology.com/projects/apache/
  9. Brooke, that was the news anchor trying to bait the officer into saying "I don't know. I beat all of them" Then the cops are the bad guy, and we aren't doing enough blah blah.... I saw a cop on Fox News knock some dude over with his loot into 3 feet of water. Its ruined if he still wants to get it, and then the cop just moved on to the next one. They said the police station was under water anyway, so they're just trying to do what they can. SHOOT THEM!!!!! SHOOT THEM!!!!!
  10. What pisses me off even more is the liberal news reporters saying things like "People taking food" BULLSHIT! Anyfood that was there is either under 20 feet of shitty water, or is starting to rot being its 90 degrees and humid as fuck there. They are stealing anything that isn't nailed down. What needs to happen, is the National Guard needs to start shooting the looters. Make an example out of them.
  11. Same here. Except its most of my relatives attending. The ones that aren't are attending the local liquor store sales.
  12. LOL like them cocksucken Furbies too. Can't wait until I can afford my Cubs. Gotta find the place, price, and what sizes are available.

  18. I don't have shit, but I also had an 80cc Moto 4 for my first quad! About a 1984 or so. I used to wheelie on it when the parents weren't watching. It was kinda fun if I remember right. Bump.
  19. Mine is being built for a few reasons. Number one is a prototype platform for a new company product. Got to have something before you can see what works. Number two is its a persoal goal I've set for myself after putting it off for so long. Number three is its giving me an education in fabrication. Something I should have done 10 years ago. The frame is 80%90% done by me. Most of the parts on the bike will be or are done by me. Number four is I need a drag bike for the dunes. Mine is going to be a hillshooter only. Number five is hopefully it will be some good advertising for my company. Got to be able to show off my skills/parts etc. If my parts are on something people will notice, even better. Hopefully I'll get mine complete before this next Easter. I really want it to be a head turner.
  20. Is this something they plan on doing yearly?? I'd like to be able to make it to an official drag, and Laughlin NV is too far for me right now. I didn't read the link that was put up, so if its in there, sorrrry.
  21. HAHA! I damn give a don't if dyslexic are you. Help for the man thanks.
