How pissed do the looters in N.O. make you
Cotton eyed Joe replied to 2004LEBanshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
LOL this guy I was pretty good friends with at the time would sit on his couch, smoke cigarettes and watch tv while he bitched that he didn't have money to do anything. Amazing. Whats even more amazing is when I did suggest that maybe he get a 2nd part time job, he blew up rambling on about how "he didnt have time to do that" Thats when I realized, yep...my buddy was a derelict. That was 2 years ago and I haven't heard from him since. I'm sure he's still sitting in the same place. -

I know a few people here that don't work their asses off, they are derelics, and then bitch that they don't have anything while they are sitting on their couches watching tv. LOL it was the first and LAST time I suggest to someone that maybe they get a 2nd part time job until things smooth out. Guess it wasn't what he wanted to hear. -
the Most expensive Stock carbs I ever seen

Not in stock, but I can make them! -
Fuck no. I don't even wave at people I know. Last thing I need is 3 highway patrol cars pulling me over all at once because they think I'm gonna shoot someone because of what someone behind me thought they saw. Alot of people here seriously drive like they are from some 3rd world country. Curbs and red lights be damned. Fuck...the off ramp by my house is the worst. It will back up because its busy, so these dumb fucks will STOP in the right hand lane rather than just go to the next exit!!!! I've seen people do it in front of diesels hauling triples like its nothing!! I-15 is the major byway here...there aint much room for fucking around. Most days I take the back back roads home. The roads that go by nothing but farmland.

LOL Did you bonk him on the head and dump him out of his chair?? I liked the minivan story. People drive like that here. Tailgate you for miles when they can clearly pass, then they pass and hit their brakes. Here in Utah if someone calls in your plate number to the *611 highway help number that you are giving someone the finger on the freeway, the local stars will slap your ass with a road rage charge after they pull you over and rubber glove you. I keep my hands on the bottom of the wheel because of that. I don't swing that way.

Good find Cole! Something else I've found amuzing is the brigades of global warming freaks squealing about OH GLOBAL WARMING THIS IS PROOF! But on the news they sort of dispelled that myth being they had a hurricane like this back in 1919 or so.

Shit..I did them TWICE last night. Once before I left for the gym....and WHAM came back in the door and the sinks were full.... Its like magic. Now if I could only get my sink to spawn $100's.

I've never been to New Orleans, but... was it kind of a hole? I was talking with someone that came into the shop that was saying it wasn't exactly a paradise. Dunno. All I ever saw was on COPS when they'd patrol Mardi Gras and some fat chick got pinched for flashing her floppy tits. Oh, and someone I know that was showing my wife the beads she got at MG, and I'm sitting there thinking back to the COPS episode because this chicks tits are almost at her belly button. Where the vomit smilie when you need it?

I saw that the people that won't leave, think the water will just go away. They have no idea what its going to take to get rid of it, and what will be left behind. Right now most of that water is so toxic, that its burning peoples skin. -
Your uncle must be a carny.

LOL!!! NEWER NEW ORLEANS!! WITH 60% MORE JUMBALAYA! If they do manage to pump all that water out, repair the dikes, and rebuild, they seriously need to think about making those levies about 40 feet taller and 300 feet wider, or backfilling the whole place until its about 200 feet above sea level. Get one of those Extreme Engineering episodes of the Discovery Channel going. I heard today, there are still people there waiting it out because they think the water will just go away. Apparently they don't even know that water has to be pumped out on a regular basis during normal conditions. If the power is restored, and the pumps turned on I think they said 3-4 months of continuous pumping (with the levies fixed) to get it all out. Then they have to start shovevling shit thats left over after the water is gone.

That happened here a week ago today on the I-15 about 30 miles north of me. Guy going 85mph (its 75mph out there) northbound swerved to miss a dog on the freeway. He over corrected and ended up JUMPING the burrow pit and hitting another car travelling southbound head on. The tractor/trailer behind them slammed into the wreck, and when it was all said and done, an 80 year old woman, and 2 children under the age of 5 were dead. I think all 3 were ejected as well, and both of the kids were in restraints. It must have been one hell of a wreck. The local highway stars on the news even said in a case like this...hit the dog, take the damage to your car.

Does the Red Cross keep a roster of who's donated what? I'd assume someone knows because its a write off. Just wondering if there is a way to find out how much money came from certain celebrities. Maybe those celebrities are out of the country touring Iraq in a plane at 40,000 feet and couldn't donate anything.

BB, when we claim our gas expenses on our taxes, we keep all of our receipts, and we even write the mileage down. I think we get to write of so much per mile, plus the cost of the fuel. If you're getting your CDL, you know how to run a log book. Also, a good accountant helps. We don't do any of our own business taxes. Theres too much there to get it right and not end up paying a massive penalty. You might be able to search the IRS website even. My wife is an accountant I'll ax her if she knows anything...... ....... And yes Travis, great minds do think alike

OH MAN...You said CNN and Clinton in the same sentence... my one eye won't stop twitching now and I've got a vein sticking out of the middle of my forehead that I can feel my heartbeat in.

"Stockpiling" will just cause a bigger increase in price, and could possibly lead to a shortage. Then we're fucked. Just buy what you need to get by. Drive like you normally do, but cut out any driving that you can. I put $40 in my truck today so I could top off my tank. I'm not buying any extra. Im just using it until it gets to 1/2 tank, then buying enough to fill it. I'm not taking any trips right now, me and my wife are lucky enough to have a Honda Civic that gets great mileage, so we drive that on the weekends, but I still have to drive my 3/4 ton Chevy to work everyday. About 10-12 miles one way. If I don't come home for lunch everyday, I travel about 20-25 miles less EVERY day. At 15 miles per gallon around town, thats about $3-$4+ per day I save. Over the 6 days per week I work, thats $25-$40 or more depending on if I have to go run errands or deliveries for the shop. Obviously, it aint easy, but it won't be this way forever.

I have a +6 in stock, and I can fab up a +4 if you want. I have plenty of carriers in stock. Just have to cut the steel and weld it up. I also have a +4 brake line in stock if you need one of those too.
-
How much are you looking to spend on a swingarm? I have a used swingarm, stock length, bare, NO skidplate mounts, and a cut out in the rear of it, that I will put a new carrier and brake mount on. Its only been ridden on for 2 trips, a total of about 6 days, so maybe 30 hours or so, but its over a year old. Its been a display swingarm on my orange bike. Lemme know if you're interersted. If you want new, I can do that too. Plenty of steel and carriers in stock. Just have to weld them up.

Awesome shit right thurr.. Its only a matter of time before the ACLU steps in with a lawsuit stating that the sign infringed on someones "right" to willingly break the law. That sign prevented them from breaking and entering, and then looting during a delcared state of emergency. That isn't fair. -
Hawaii has put their cap at around $2.80 per gallon. I think it might be a state by state deal.

Sorry Cole, but

What is "gaped"? Sounds like something I saw in a movie once.

Maybe not rebuild New Orleans. Just retire the zip code and move on. Everyone is leaving the place anyway, and most of them that couldn't afford to are being bussed everywhere else, so they probably won't be able to afford moving back. I hope WalMart/any large national chain-- opens up some employment opportunities for those people wherever they move to. N.O. hasn't taken in a single penny of revenue since the disaster, and chances are there won't be any jobs for 4-5 months there if they rebuild.
