Just Got My Gun Liscense
Cotton eyed Joe replied to banshee0044's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Well, here you don't really need a license. 18 to buy shot guns, and 21 to buy everything else. The only time you need a permit is to carry a concealed weapon, and to own, or posses fully automatic weapons. -
Silencers have little to do with anything horsepower related unless they are restrictive. Your best bet for more power is porting.

Radiator Or Inlinecooler?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to AVBANSHEE03's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Its all about surface area. A radiator has hundreds of times more area than an inline cooler. Like everyone else said, a radiator would do you better if you're looking to drop the temperature more than 5 degrees or so. -

Planets Must Be Misaligned 4 Me
Cotton eyed Joe replied to sheeweet's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I believe in something similar. All those who LIE are slaves, and the truth shall set you free. I'm around a few people that lie everynow and again. Little bullshit lies, but its stupid trivial shit, that I know better than to believe. Its almost insulting that they expect me to believe something stupid when they say it. I don't know if they are just trying to convince themselves, or just me, or what...... Thats one of the reasons I don't tell people bullshit stories. I don't want anyone to think of me what I think of these people that try to pass bullshit off as the truth. -
Planets Must Be Misaligned 4 Me
Cotton eyed Joe replied to sheeweet's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I never got my ass beat to get taught the lesson, but I learned it when the money went away, and most of my banshee was at the powdercoaters, back in '98. I had a new truck (every year and a half), a new woman, a new banshee, 1500 watts of stereo in my truck, a new sun roof, fiberglass tonneau cover, new rims and tires, etc etc..... I was buying new clothes all the time shit like that....$300 month in suppliments Then one day the call came that our cash cow was going somewhere else. I spent every dime I had left to just get my banshee out of the powdercoaters and my engine parts from the builder. I had bills coming in left and right. After that it was all down hill. Were recovering (the machine shop) still to this day it was such a hard hit, but now I don't spend money like there is always going to be more. I hate the feeling of not knowing where your next meal is coming from even though you're working your ass off to keep the ship afloat. -
LOL I lift 4 nights per week. I love it. I was telling BenBB when we were at Dumont, that when I tighten shit down I have to hold on to the wrench with only 2 or 3 fingers so I don't over do it. Especially on spark plugs in the aluminum heads. I've stretched my fair share of bolts and studs, so I have to make a concious effort to not over tighten. I'm no Goliath though....I'm actually on the small side. I'm 6'2" or so, and barely 200lbs.

Call CPI and talk to Mike. If their standard pipes won't work they can make you some I'm sure. I've never met or talked to Mike, but I've heard for some locals that he knows his shit.

you lost me on the giving up the sake of machanical advantages and safty? im a simple person of few words but that didnt make sence to me. yeah i would have rather cut the hex into it but didnt know the size and just decided drilling it would be easier. i dont own 2 crescent wrenches big enough for the job. so there would go another $35 to sears. is it not a good idea to use this wway you mean? like tightening it too much or not enough. could be a risk to your safty. was that what you ment? Well what I meant was, I have a tendancy to break shit. In the last year I've broken 2 Craftsman ratchets and a 7/8 box wrench. Not working on my Banshee, but on other stuff that needed to be torqued down. So, what I do is use a shorter wrench. This gives a shorter torque lever arm, and I can't put so much into it. When I tighten my axle nuts, I have a wrench on each one, and I just push one and pull one and they are tight enough with some lock tite. I don't put pipes on any wrench anymore. lol.... I get myself into trouble.

Oh 1045 is a steel. Its different than 1018. Some of my jobs require 1045 not 1018. The parts would fail or not pass inspection if they aren't the right material. Acid etching is easier than a paint marker or paper tags. I didn't know Lowes had muratic acid either.....damn...I need to walk around that place more.
-
Lowes has HCl?????? Where??? I use it from time to time in an acid etching pen for marking materials. You can't just look at 1045 and know its 1045.
-
I made a set almost identical to that almost 2 years ago. I cut the 50 mm hex into it though, instead of the rounded part. I eventually cut them up for other parts because I found I was strong enough to use 2 adjustable wrenches. I break shit from time to time, so if I can give up some mechanical advantage I do it for the sake of the part my safety or the tool.

HELL YEAH THEY COUNT!!!! They are the ones keeping the Mullet alive....hehe..thats sort of funny. Most of these mullets look like road kill... But yeah. If you would like, amend the rules so that a female mullet is worth X amount. I'm adding kids to my hit list. Mudflaps Mullets and Rat tails. 20pts. If they are with a parent, and that parent also has a mullet its a UNIQUE MULLET and its worth 50pts. If I find a whole family of mullets I'll probably lay down and die right there in the frozen food section of WalMart. "LOOK MA...THEY GOTS CORNDOGS!!!" In all honesty this happened at the WalMart here...I was walking back to the milk/cheese/eggs section, when this guy sporting a super fuzzy mullet walks past one of those portable freezer bins. He looks down in the bin and says to no one inparticular..."Corn Dogs man..right on." and makes this little hand gesture like a "hang loose" thing. HAHAHAHA I have too much fun doing this. I need to work more I think. -
lol Yeah I amember you. You still have your banshee???

Front Wheel Side To Side Slop
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Basicorpse's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Are you sure it isn't a ball joint? The test you described is the best way to test for a loose ball joint. Make a mark on your a arm pivot and frame then do this test. You will be able to see if the a arm is moving or the ball joint is moving based on if the marker mark is mis aligned or not. -
I saw it a while ago. Ozzy and my dad are about the same age. My dad is terrified to ride on my banshee. After I had it ported he took it up the street and back once in first gear. It was cool to see him stab the throttle and see the front end go skywards. My dad used to ride bikes all the time, but he got out of it about 15 years ago. Ozzy is so numb from the last 40 years I would doubt he even knew what country he was in let alone that he was on a banshee.

The Fastest Way To Do Gear Changing
Cotton eyed Joe replied to xt45's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I start by slightly letting off the gas to ease the pressure on the transmission gears, then I lift my left toes up to hit second. It usually works. I do just the opposite to shift down. -
I'm gonna apply at Pixar.

This is no shit. I've never even read these, but I have 2 Punisher VS Archie comic books. Both are the same, but with different covers. I've had them about 10 years or so. I got them because of this big Punisher guy and freggin Archie from the '50's on the cover. Was it better than The Hulk? heh...Hell...I could make something better than that.
