Crank, cylinders, pistons, head, misc.. You’ll be looking at roughly $2,000. That also depends on what you already have. And if your clutch parts are junk, plan on another $350 for a new bracket, inner hub, pressure plate and clutch. No sense in doing this build and try to skimp on parts.

Nice bike. You can’t build it for that. Only advantage of the chassis is that if it’s chromoly, it’s probably lighter than OEM.

I have a set cut and ready to go. I don’t see any way they’ll be as effective as Ambush for several reasons. Knowing what I know, I’d pick the Ambush if I only had one run at the hill.

The cut tires will still work best. CST Ambush is still the best cut tire. Nothing has changed. I’ve seen a couple new hillclimb bike builds on FB recently that are almost identical copies to stuff I was doing in 2012.

Why is anyone talking about stock cylinder stuff? The OP specifically stated 10 Cub.

There’s been several Driveline setups tested at Dunetoyz in Oklahoma with similar results.

I have been pretty involved in dyno testing on various motors with Snipers and Shearers.. Those motors include, but are not limited to (because I have two TSS motors that aren't really available) 421 Cub, 421 Serval, 10 Cub and Serval, 10 Super Cub and Serval and several others. I will tell you this.. Both my play drag bike and my 421 Serval dune bike have Snipers. The more CC, the more the difference.. So, you can make your own decision. I guarantee not one person on BHQ has more inside info about them than me. No one.
