Not at all. It's just a huge misconception that big motors in a stock chassis won't work.
They will, but they need to be braced properly to keep them from twisting under a load.
Yea, it's really fucking stupid considering half the drag chassis you see at the sand are modded stockers.
As long as the motor isn't twisting there will be no issue.
Timing of jumps is definitely an issue up north. Those fucking guys have no idea how to build proper jumps. I've mentioned to them several times about getting their heads out of their asses but it falls upon deaf ears.
Throwing chains is simply a motor twisting issue. Not that I ever threw a chain, but before I designed the motor support I would have issues with the chain getting loose as fuck after a run. It was because with that much motor and getting traction off the jumps, it was twisting the motor. The motor support solved that problem and there's never been an issue since then.
The bike throwing riders has nothing to do with the motor or the frame.
There shouldn't be any twisting of the frame in asphalt drag racing.
I can see maybe how I might twist a frame landing off the jumps, but even that is a stretch.
If a stock frame can make it through what we put them through, there's no reason asphalt would tear them up.
When we come down off those jumps there is a huge load on the motor, suspension and frame itself.. You'll never get that kind of load going down a drag strip.
I have three 18DMs in stock frames. Two are in Banshee frames and one is in a 450r frame.
We ride them harder than anyone else is with that big of a motor and have had no issues.
Here is a video of what we do with them. Both bikes have 18DMs in them.
If I were building a trail motor, I would go with a 4mm Serval. Tons of power everywhere and you can use all the parts you have for the build.
When funds allow for it, you can always upgrade carbs, pipes, intakes, etc.
I agree.
I go into USPS about once a week and the same three employees there are in piss poor moods every single time.
It really is a hassle for them to ring up my 27 packages with no postage on them.
