What happens if you run a banshee out of gas?
locogato11283 replied to Matt05's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'm too scared to find out. I keep mine charged! -

Maybe the Otter Box is just an overhyped, overpriced piece of shit? All I'm saying is I'm outside with rain, snow, dirt, mud, concrete and saw dust, and I don't seem to have an issue. Then again, I'm not a total dipshit with it either. -
That's a good question. FFS. I think it's at 360, give or take a couple pounds. I've actually made some changes since I last weighed it. I need to check it again.

I probably rely on Cam more than I should when it comes to my motors and them making power, but I really don't have the time to hit the dyno. That's why I send Cam nekkids of my wife..So that he will spend more time on the dyno with my junk. What's crazy is that we (my brother and I) were winning pretty handily before this 12HP upgrade.. After the first showing this year at Red Wing, we can both tell a huge difference in these motors. That combined with the new suspension has us really confident in the complete package. I am sure others will follow suit, as nothing I have or do is a secret. Shit, my brother hadn't climbed in almost two years and took 2nd both days in Red Wing in May, pretty easily too. He says the new set up is the best it has ever been. Good thing I set his shit up! When it comes to our setups, I always share information with mainly hillclimbers, but anyone who wants to know as well. There are several members on this site alone that are running almost identical copies of our setups, that I helped them get together. Two guys have 20DMs that Cam built over the winter per my recommendation. Just about anywhere you look in the hillclimb scene, you will see bits and pieces of our set ups. Tires is a big thing that transferred from us to them. When we first started climbing in MN, me, my brother and a buddy were the only ones with cut tires. No one else did it. That caught on FAST. In 2006, Nationals were in Red Wing and the east coast guys came out.. They took the cut tire thing home with them and now nearly all of them run some form of cut tire. I do help a lot with other climbers set ups, even guys I am in direct competition with up north, I just don't really post much about it here. As far as the Hybrid goes, I retired it! Over the winter I shed a ton of weight off the Banshee, getting it down to within a few pounds of the Hybrid weight. I decided that only one hillclimb bike was necessary, so I took it apart. I also like the new feel of the Banshee better than the Hybrid, so I figured I didn't need it anymore.

There are several factors to my success. Obviously, motors play a huge part. Testing different set ups has been a big deal too as it has changed a ton over the years. Last, I would say is my riding ability. As far as on site potential of motor, they do perform very well and have a great success rate and basically non-existent failure rate. Cam does dyno tune the motors, which I personally witnessed in February, and I think he is getting them as close as they will need to be for me. I'm not sure there is even 10% more to be had once they leave his hands, unless of course if he finds some new dome/porting configuration that works better. He got 12 more HP out of our 18DMs with some very minor changes, but he knew he would as his testing on other motors showed ours need updated. Mater of fact, I haven't touched the jetting in the carbs or made one single change to the set ups since getting the motors back from him. They are running very well and the plugs look good. Plus, I hate fucking with them. I want to ride them, not work on them.. Unless absolutely necessary.

Fuck, I hate agreeing with you, but pretty much everything you said is true. And YES, I am guilty of throwing shit together without checking myself or doing a ton of tuning, on a dyno anyway. I attribute a lot of that to my builder, who has never let me down or left me stranded. I guess I am kind of spoiled in that sense. My tuning comes in the form of suspension set up, gearing, tire trial and error and trying parts that many others wouldn't due simply to cost. I have the means so I don't mind, and I have no problem letting people know what is working and what isn't, for hillclimbing anyway. While you and I don't see eye to eye about 97% of the time, I DO respect your tuning knowledge and help you bring to BansheeHQ, along with STY and others. I suspect this diversity is what helps keeping people coming here.. Along with a little Jersey Shore drama every now and then. BansheeHQ is an equal opportunity website. Yes. It's also a mid-level and advanced users website. It hits on everything. What's nice is that you have guys from all riding types with all motor types. Within this community, someone is bound to know the answer.

OH, I forgot to add trail riding and duning to the list! Sorry! Where you got all this nonsense is beyond me. I was simply stating that the number of people who come here for simple beginner type mods far outweighs the ones who come here for clutch tuning, at any level. I NEVER said your thread wasn't meeting needs or that it sucked. Go back to work!
-
Let's be realistic here.. The ratio of guys needing info about TORS removal is probably a lot higher than guys needing to know how to set up a clutch for 300' sand or 1/8 mile asphalt. It's not that the TORS type threads aren't helpful, it's that you're way past that level in terms of bike set up. You're going to be far more interested in high performance technical threads than the every day common problem threads.

When did u put your bike on a dyno? All builders have a dyno right? -
^^^^ You should stick to your little tweets of hatred. Your providing info that might just bite you later...... ^^^^ NOTE: He came up with this on his own. No nut swinging from me. Just another guy who's calling as he sees it. (Slap the bitch together and go ride up a hill) LMFAO Fixed this one for you.^^^^ This one is priceless. Proof once again that you know what you know.....but couldn't explain why. (Just go buy another win bro) SlowerThanYou - Is busy posting quality helpful info in another post about clutch tuning. Yet you couldn't hold you own in a tuning conversation even if you stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night. LOL Just poking fun......... I'm not sure what you're babbling about. I admit that I don't build my own motors. I pay one of the best in the business to do that for me. There's no need to double check Cam's work. Every single one of the motors that Cam has built me, five now, were or are multi race winning motors. Anyway, ramble on.

Isn't that why you like me?

Hater. Yea, well, you kind of came off sounding like a cheese dick.. NOW, you may be able to redeem yourself by being nicer, not calling names (that's my job) and upgrading your membership to Premium status with a t-shirt.

Perk of being a motor builder I guess? -
There's a few other's that do the same shit. LOL! I know. At least Windy has the sack to do it on his own. I will give him that. - HMFIC
-
You've been running around trying to take shots at me. You only started when Windy started shit. Why don't you man up and say what's on your mind? Or are you too scared unless someone else starts it? - HMFIC
-
NO, I don't. I PAY Cameron at Redline to BUILD my shit. I know dick about any of those things.. That's my builder's JOB. And he's fucking good at it because I have three big ass motors that he BUILT and I've never so much as checked a fucking thing and they all run PERFECT. So, YES, I am an assembler. Cameron is a BUILDER.
