I run Castor 927 40:1...most people that I know who run Yamalube mix @ 32:1.

Weren't gone that long....were ya? hehe...I've been busy as shit & haven't been able to be on here as much as in the past.
-
I've heard that before & read it on here too. Anyone else remember that post from ????? that had sent & got a reply from Stewart Toomey and he explained in his reply that the TR6's were designed to provide best gains when on a stock motor; if your going with motor work also--go with the T5's. I had t5's...went to PC & am happy.

The least of my problems right now.hehe But I'm still running 13/41 gearing with a -2 swingarm! I have no complaints...I seldom get beat in the drags or just screwing around racing unless I'm line'n up with the big boys & their alky/nos shees....then I have my ass handed to me along with all the other average joes! I don't think I shift too much, I must just be used to it & have adapted. I may try different gearing, but I think shee's fine they way it is so I may not.

Thanks to all for the replies! I checked the gap on the plugs & on the pickup coil, all were correct according to my bible & my g/f's dad tried setting the pickup coil a bit closer & it made no change. I always check plug gaps before I install them. I'm going to try pulling the coil & everything off the g/f's bike & see if that's the problem. I checked the wires & connectors--took a little wire brush & cleaned the coil's connector & checked the wire's connectors, pinched them in a bit & hooked them all back up and still no resolution. It's getting cooler out now & I plan on stripping everything down this winter & cutting un-needed tabs & mounts on the frame, gussetting & powder coating....so I'll probably re-wire too & see if I can locate or fix the problem. But I'd still like to ride some before it gets real shitty. I'll probably try switching the stator if the coil doesn't work. Oh yeah...(.)...I plan on getting some V-force reeds in the near future.

Well guys,...4 cases of beer, 1 weekend at the dunes, 2 spark plugs, new carb boots, new jets later...shee's still doing the exact same thing! I got to looking when we got down there & saw some little cracks in the bottom of the carb boots...so I pulled the carbs off again(went up a jet size & re-cleaned the carbs AGAIN), replaced the boots(they weren't cracked all the way through, thank god), pulled out the reed cages & the reeds were just fine, no cracks at all. Put everything back together, put in some fresh gas & plugs....same problem. So I'm almost 100% sure it's electical. Coil, cdi, or stator...but I don't know that it's the stator--has only about 20hrs on it & it's from yamaha. I pulled the side case off & the flywheel was spotless, no moisture in there. So I dunno...may just have to take it to a shop & have them figure it out---when I have the $$. Anyone want to buy a banshee?hehe j/k...just fed up with it & pissed,...but I do have a '99 shee w/mods for sale.

Where To Get Some Good Dune Pics?
ledofthezep replied to STLbanshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I got some on my site...need to update it, but there's pics there & link to Johnson's Buggies--he's got some pics & vids also... http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/ledofthezep -
I dunno...that's what I was thinking...because it doesn't backfire consistantly,...just every once in a while, randomly on each side. The gas was the same gas I was running all weekend, bought it when I got down there like usual...ran fine Friday night & Saturday until Saturday evening. I'm bound to get it figured out. I'll be running fresh gas this weekend also. We're taking off for the sand in about 5 minutes...so I'll post back on Monday & let ya know what I find. Thanks again, Brandon

You may pull off the clutch cover & look at the shift forks,..see if they're bent or anything, there's a spring in there that could be worn...possibly. I'd check there & see if you notice anything hanging it up. I had problems getting hung up in 2nd & 3rd and that was my problem...the shift forks were getting hungup on the shift star. I just unjammed them & took TXALKY's advise & put a rubber washer on the shift shaft and then put the shifter back on....eliminating the left to right play with the shift shaft that was causing the binding. Haven't had a problem since.

Cool...thanks a lot fixitrod, I appreciate someone trying to help me out on this...I'll pick up some 290 & 300 jets & give'm a shot. I've never had any issues with my jetting, from temps 30 degrees to 110 degrees, shee's always ran damn good. So I dunno...I'll try the jets, then reeds....or if I can't get jets until tomorrow I may just check the reeds--going to have to remove the carbs anyway... Thanks again man, Led Zeppelin
-
Yeah,...it's cooler out.....40-50 degrees. Running 270's right now. Thinking about going to 310's...what do you think? Where's boonman at anyway when I need him!?!hehe
-
Is backfiring an symtom. I took the plug boots off the coil wires, cliped the wires down just a bit & re-screwed in the plug boots. Shee started right up like always, but now it's not really sputtering at WOT, it's backfiring every once in a while--on both cylinders(not at the same time--random). Plugs look ok.... I think I'll try some new reeds. The only shitty thing is I'm heading for the dunes today & will have to do it when I get there.
-
Well,...am heading to the dunes tomorrow & haven't gotten a chance to look at the banshee yet. Got to thinking though....if I got a cracked reed will it cause it to spit & sputter at WOT? I know I'm going to try some larger jets & another coil...just trying to think of what other things to try that I've not already. So can anyone tell me what a cracked reed or reeds will do to performance? They're still the stock reeds. I also heard about removing or modifying a restrictor plate that keeps the reeds from opening up all the way????...anyone know about this?
-
The woman's banshee has the same setup...graydon 2:1 w/35 carb. That thing will scream, but it is more in the low to mid. Got a bit less top than my stockers, but with some tuning I bet you/I can get it a little better on the top. But I dunno...I haven't messed with it yet & don't even know what jet sizes are in it.
-
I ride mostly at LittleSahara, OK....
-
I'm 6'1 & don't have any problems. However, I'd like to try a set of cut back & down pegs before I chopped mine. + I don't want to mess up that pretty chrome plating either!
-
That's the exact same reason no one but me rides my shee,...and if someone does I guarantee they know that they're lives depend upon the condition they bring it back in,...and they never leave my site....and they must have the $$ to fix it or a damn nice quad for collateral. Glad to hear shee made it out ok, hope your bro felt it more! j/k
-
Yet again...Ricky Stator pulls through with good aftermarket parts at damn good prices! Looks like I may have to get me one for the gf's shee...she'd have hard time bending a stock one anyway!

Gasgas Atv Any Touhgts On It..?
ledofthezep replied to sheeBASTARD's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Pretty durn kewl...IMHO I'd pimp one if I had the $$ -
Uh.... ...I think you just linked to your own post instead of the pics.
-
That sucks man. Sorry to hear. Hope you & the shee get well soon. Don't let you old man do anything he'll regret in the long run...

I've came to the decision that I will not be able to part with my banshee. So shee's not for sale unless I'm offered more than what I've got into it. The yellow shee is for sale, will either use the money to pay off a loan & get the g/f an EX or possibly use for a downpayment on a yfz...not sure yet.
-
Sorry guys,...I can't get a dirtbike,...this is the g/f-fiance's banshee. I'm selling it to either pay off a loan or buy her an EX, she want's a thumper & I wouldn't mind having one for putting around my ranch...I don't plan on parting them out either, those razrs only fit my banshee, unless your banshee also has honda 400ex hubs...but still they're all I got right now, so I can't part with them. Sorry...

Wow Talk About Power & Accelleration
ledofthezep replied to rebelbanshee2's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Now mount that into a banshee & see if you can hold on! -
I traded a dirtbike for this banshee & rebuilt it, welded up some weak spots on the frame & repainted it dark blue metallic, has yellow fenders from a '97 shee that I need to clean up a bit, but they're not that bad at all '99 banshee Trinity stage IV pipes & silencers Bored .02(weisco pro-lites)--was done by previous owner so I can't verify that Graydon proline 2:1 intake w/35 pwk carb I believe Cascade seat cover Pro-design kill switch axle is tweaked a bit, but still rideable/still riding on it I know I've left some shat out...comes with some spare parts as well--swingarm/carrier/lights/front shocks, other odds & ends...hell I'll even throw in a set of stock pipes! I'll be installing a Barnett DirtDigger clutch this weekend at the dunes. Comes with stock tires/gold wheels with good tread still, skat trak 9pdl haulers I'm in KS, south of Wichita...let me know if your interested, you can email me at [email protected] Ride on,...I dig the R...
