  1. Thanks guys,...I was in a hurry to get home so I didn't screw with it before I came home...still sitting in the garage untouched. I'm going to try d/c the torrs & if that doesn't work give the carbs a good deusche'n & hope that fixes it.
  2. Got any pics of the bike?
  3. I'm thinking it's the torrs but haven't checked it out yet. My shee started crapping out on me last Sunday before we came home from the dunes. She starts & runns just fine in the lower end, but at the top of the power-band instead of reving out it will spit & sputter, cough, pop. New plugs didn't make a damn bit of difference. Jetting has never given me any issues, I haven't even took off my carbs in 4 yrs now. hehe So I imagine if d/c the torrs doesn't cure it I'll clean the carbs. Anyone have any other suggestions; just figured I'd ask.
  4. yeah,...like stomp said. I went form K&N clamp-ons to the toomey 2:1 w/Uni filter & I didn't even have to re-jet. Shee breathes just as good with the K&N's,....and no more buying outerwears every dune trip & less maintinance. The foam filter is a breeze to clean compared to the K&N's. IMHO, the 2:1 is one of the best mods I've done yet.
  5. My balls are fine. I checked last weekend as a matter of fact before I went to LS.
  6. I've always ran B8ES,...occasionally the BR8ES's when they're out of the B8's....theoretically it's 'safer' to run the BR8Es's because of the restirctor.
  7. Or...for a quick fix,...rap some rubber bands around the base where the shifter folds in & out,...should help, but with the rubber bands, you may need to repeat doing this for a while. The o-ring trick has been working for me for about 6 months now.
  8. I've kicked around that idea too, I don't know that I could part with my baby. But man, they are bad ass. I handed the guy dragg'n me his ass every time, but only by about 4 bike lengths & his was bone stock w/paddles. The more I think about it I'd rather sell than trade so I could get more out of the deal, 10,000 for both bikes really is one hell of a deal. And I'm stuck with about just under 4g's left on the yammy card from when I bought the TTR250, which I traded for the '99....and about 15,500 on my truck. And if I don't get the g/f a GD enguagement ring before long it's my ass. hehe So I dunno, I'm not in a big hurry and won't be a damn bit dissapointed if I don't find a deal. I just have too much of a bond with my banshee, the '99...it's as good as sold to me...don't know what I could get out of it though. Plus, once the g/f finishes college she should be banking well over 100k a year, so I may just wait & get a couple yfz's down the road & still have the 'ol banshee. Soo...for now, the shee's still for me!
  9. Guys,...I have to admit. After last weekend at the dunes I'm sold on the new yammy. I want one to say the least; excuse me for considering moving to the dark side. I'm pondering the idea of selling both of my banshees to get one. I'd rather just trade out right for a yfz in good condition, stock or not. I'm not set on this, but am wondering if there'll be any takers; don't know if I could part with my baby,...but maybe. Plus if I do as I plan & start MX'n hardcore, the yfz would be better for me anyhow, I think. If I were to sell both of my banshees together I'd start out asking 10,000 for both, which is a steal considering what you get. Then I could buy me a new yfz & some mods too...but I hate selling stuff....so....let me hear what ya got. I can get pics upon request. Mods: '97 MX-ready Banshee black/red*My Baby*(have title, will have to find it) Ported & Polished - mild Milled Head Dyno Jet Kit Barnett Dirt Digger Clutch Chrome Pro-Circuit Platinum Pipes & Silencers +2+1 LoneStar Chrome A-arms Works Triple Rate Shocks w/Rezzies -2 Burgard Swingarm w/round house Honda style bearing carrier Ohlins Rear Shock Durable Eliminator axle w/Honda hubs Graydon Proline Nerf bars Toomey 2:1 w/UNI filter & Outerwear White Bro's Boost Bottle & Break Block-Off Fly Racing Handlebars w/pro-grips MSR Raptor Clutch Perch & Lever TM Design Works Chain Slider GTYR full chassis skid AC-Racing swingarm skid Custom Race Cut Front fenders For the dirt: Maxxis Razrs all around on reinforced wheels(20" rear) X-cond. Outerwear's Shockwears - front & back Cascade polished grill & 'eye' light covers Polished gas cap, footpegs, & brake '99 banshee(traded for a dirtbike, no title) - dark blue metallic frame/yellow fenders & stock gray a-arms/swingarm & yellow shocks Bored .02 wiesco pro-lites Trinity stage IV pipes/silencers Cascade chain slider/new spare also Graydon Proline 2:1 w/35mm pwk carb 9paddle skat trak haulers in x-cond. stock tires/goldwheels(rear with about 60% life left) Have some spare/stock parts to include as well. Now does that sound like that bad of a steal? Someone could literally trade me, sell the banshees & laugh at the deal they just got if they wanted. If you have a yfz & want a banshee, why not have 2?hehe I still dunno if I can do it, but I could be persuaded... Let me know... Led Zeppelin 8)
  10. Are you talking about that little plastic trianglular looking piece? Mine's cracked a bit, but I siliconed it for now.....you can get a new one from yamaha for around 12 bucks I believe,...it's found in their diagrams along with the electrical shit...
  11. Yeah, I made it...was in the cowboy camp...in the wester section of stalls, about 5 down from the entrance into the cowboy camp,...was there with a bunch of rails, had my banshee, my other(yellow & blue), and my buddy was there with his shee w/red fullbores all around with a For Sale sign on it. I looked too, but damn it was busy...didn't figure with that many people I'd catch anyone. Had fun, shee's messed up though, gotta figure out what's going on....shee's spitt'n & sputter'n at the top of the powerband, fresh plugs didn't cure it. I imagine it's probably the TORRS, but I dunno....we'll see, haven't had time to check it out yet. Saturday around noon or so I was tearing up the drag strip, not the sectioned off strip, but just where everyone lines up & drags. That -2 swingarm is the bomb shit even in the sand! If you are a duner & wonder about having issues with the -2 arm in the sand, don't! It's fucking awesome, hookup is even better and in the air shee handles like a peach. I picked up some 8 paddle Sand Kings 'Turbo Paddles'(little wider & more stout than haulers) and they hooked up great, the -2 helped rather than hindered in the drags, I was getting a good bike or 2 jump damn near every time off the line, after that I was already gone! 8) Also, I'm still running 13/41 gearing. Shee was running good until Sunday morning when shee strarted shit'n on me. I was impressed with all the quads that were running, I was handing people their asses until the 'big boys' showed up....one has NOS & was fucking screaming! Soo,...I parked it & just watched for a while. On the g/f's shee I didn't get it 300 yards out of the gate before the clutch went to shit completely...motor runs damn strong, but shee doesn't move...I can put shift through all the gears without the clutch sitting stationary. ....so it looks like it's time for a dirt digger. I think we're planning another trip on the 7th-9th. Maybe if some HQ'rs are going that weekend we can meet up, shouldn't be soo busy then. I knew it was Ok's fall break, but I didn't imagine it would be that packed!
  12. Congrats BenBB! Sounds like ya had fun, can't wait until I start racing!!! !
  13. Will be getting there around 6:30-7pm if all goes well. Got my shee look'n purdy too, will get to try out the new shee this weekend as well. Also going to get some new paddles to fit the honda hubs on my new*used* -2 swingarm & will see how shee does. I'm pumped & ready to ride, the hand's feeling pretty good....still broke, but F it!! Anyone else roll'n down for the weekend? I'll be pimp'n the cowboy camp.
  14. Nice camel toe Cooker! Luckily I've had no problems dealing on Ebay,...if it doesn't sound legit, fuck it.
  15. LMAO I'd sell my left nut before I'd sell my shee... Glad to hear you aeorsolled that fart you had in your brain.
  16. Kewl pics. Gotta love hot chicks that can really ride!
  17. Shit happens,... :? Not your fault if the fucker can see what's in front of him & know how to slow himself down. I'd be beat'n his ass for talk'n shit,...and twice as hard for scratching my banshee. Just cause he's 'big' doesn't mean he's 'bad'... Big guys just fall harder. 8)
  18. LMAO
  19. Too far of a drive for my broke ass! :? Congrats on your new banshee, nothing better than a hot chick on a shee. Welcome to the HQ! Ride on! 8)
  20. I bought mine through the local stealership....$108.34 total  I looked all over online & most places were around 108-110 before shipping/taxes, etc...so I said WTF & went ahead and went through my stealer. I also talked them down to 350 on a LS axle too, but haven't ordered it yet. :?
  21. I can only speak for Barnett...only one other than stock I've tried. I got the dirt digger. Installation was nothing & it's been awesome so far. No problems, grabs great & shee pulls like no other! I've also heard good things about EBC & toomey clutches as well.
  22. I'm with boonman on this one...
  23. I usually see people running them on the bottom radiator hose going to the water pump...if not in both places. I've always said I'm going to pick one or 2 up,...but haven't still to this day.
  24. It's a '97 in the pic(mine)....hers is a '99 with a dark blue metallic frame & yellow fenders.
