Thanks guys,...I don't have the parking break or stock clutch perch anymore so that's not the case...I'm definately going to check on the coil & see if that's where the problem is. And I know I need to rejet(oil fouling plugs every 4-5hrs or so),...have pipes/toomey 2:1 air filter/mild port & polish, milled head. I'm thinking I should be around 310's...but I've never had any issues--until now, it happened like someone flipped a switch on it. So I dunno? I'll try swapping out the coil w/the one from my '99 and see what shee does. If I have to I guess I'll take it to the 'banshee man' at the local stealer & see if he can finger it out. Will keep you all posted...THANKS A MILLION!

What Are The Best Pipes For Going To The Dunes?
ledofthezep replied to Ultimateduner's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Figured I'll put in my $.02... I switched from T5's to PC's & haven't regretted it since. I mostly ride dunes also. T5's are a great pipe-don't get me wrong, put for my riding style & overall performance I'm happy with my PC's. -
Alright guys,...I'm stumped...my shee started this the last time I was at the dunes a couple weekends ago. Shee starts & idles fine, revs ok until WOT,...then shee starts spitt'n & cough'n and won't completely rev out. I can leave it in neutral & hold the throttle wide open & shee revs up but spits & coughs out of both silencers. Here's what I've done so far: --cleaned air filter(only aprox 2hrs riding since cleaned last)-no luck --checked plugs(looked fine, put new ones in anyway)-no luck --unhooked torrs control assembly-no luck --removed carbs(were clean, cleaned anyway, removed jets*270's at aprox 300' above sea level* & made sure they were clean)-no luck --made sure carbs are exactly in sync with each other-no luck I haven't checked the compression yet, bro in law ran off with my checker... I'm thinking about swapping coils with my '99 but haven't yet... Anyone have any suggestions? Am supposed to be going to the dunes this weekend so I need to get this figured out asap or I'll be staying at home. Please help, I'm stumped...thanks in advance..

They sound good, IMHO anway. They seem to perform excellent on my '99 banshee with the single carb setup. Need to get a good clutch installed to see how they really perform. They fit & look good too.

I'll drink to that!

LMAO,...surely he'd prefer something better than cheap beer though!

Man Deuce...sounds like you're having a not so good time over there...to say the least. Wish you the best...hang in there. I can't even begin to imagine what you & tons of others are going through right now. shizzel, around here when a field catches fire & jumps a road to another field you'd a thought WWIII was here, can only imagine what a fire of that size is like.

All said & done...probably a 2 stroke because they're easier to work on & cheaper to fix(in most cases). But the most reliable quad I've ever owned other than my banshee was an old '87 200sx fourtrax. I was a wheelie ride'n mofo....that's for sure! I burnt up the motor riding a wheelie---lack of oil, froze up good. So I sold it & bought sand tires/wheels for the banshee!

To hell with rap... Where's the 'ROCK & ROLL' category? Led Zeppelin for me please... Rock on!

Couldn't agree with you more. They are unbelievable. I haven't gotten to ride one yet, but am more than impressed with what I've seen. Would love to have one, even considering trading both of my shee's for one....but am having second thoughts, I just can't bear the thought of not having my banshee. So I'll just wait until the g/f-fiance gets her sign-on bonus & have her buy me a brand new one!

What Size Is Best For Mx

I have no complaints with my -2 arm. It's the shizzel! I'd say with the -2 you'd get a hair more traction than with the -1. -

ledofthezep replied to Yamaha_Banshee_Rider's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Haha,...While the HQ was down I was snoop'n EXriders & that guy was on there posting....asking if anyone had a pic or video of his wreck. He to didn't know what happened, said he was turning & lost it but didn't know how/why. So I dunno either.... -
Can't part with the keg, sorry....that's the best cooler around the house!
-
Sorry NAX, but I don't really want to part anything out...thanks for the offer though, if I change my mind I may hit you up on that swingarm. erbilabuc, I'd like to get around 2800-3000 for it or trade. Is a bit dirty,...haven't washed since I last came home from the dunes... '99 banshee(traded for a dirtbike to a guy in TN, no title) - dark blue metallic frame/yellow fenders & stock gray a-arms/swingarm & yellow shocks Bored .02 wiesco pro-lites(done recently by previous owner, aprox 3hrs of riding) Trinity stage IV pipes/silencers Cascade chain slider/new spare also Graydon Proline 2:1 w/35mm pwk carb pep clutch perch/renthals 9paddle skat trak haulers in x-cond. Needs new clutch, will either install one or give $110 for a new one Stock axle is a bit tweaked, but still rideable-not really noticeable so I haven't changed it out since the g/f doesn't really get crazy. stock tires/goldwheels off my '97 (rear with about 60% life left) Have some spare/stock parts to include as well.(lower a-arms, swingarm & carrier, lights & can't remember what else...) No real reason to sell, looking for best offer or trade for the right thumper. Will consider throwing mine into the deal & sell them together for a good price, would like to get around $9,000-$10,000 or around there(best offer) for both-wich is one hell of a deal for what you get. I don't want to sell mine by itself really, but would take $6500 for it. Where Did Everyone Go When The HQ Was Down?
ledofthezep replied to Holyman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
A lot of that,...was all over. Hell, I even spent some time on EXriders. -
You can get a clutch at a decent price out of RockyMtn ATV, or perhaps your local stealership. That's where I got mine; a Barnett Dirt Digger. Installation is a piece of cake, especially if you have a clymers manual. If not, I'd suggest the clymers before the clutch. I didn't think mine was slipping bad before I replaced it, but GD--it's amazing how much of a difference the new clutch made.

Looks good Lee! Great job.

In over 4 years I've never had any issues with casto927, haven't had to do anything to my motor since the day I bought it. And it smells good!
-
Nah,...for both. But I dunno....I have a lot of time & money invested in my banshees....finally got some updated pics though! Check'm out, I'd sell both together for 10,000 - really a damn good deal if you ask me. I need the money to get some bills paid off anyway, so instead of trading I may just wait & sell them outright. Oh yeah,...there' some pics of Bonzo, the 'security' hehe http://www.kcisp.net/~bking/MyBanshees Some sexy bitches huh!? My front left tire is a bit low & makes it look kinda funny... For more pics just click on the link above or check the images section here in a bit...[/img]

My 1st offer....God Damn I don't know if I should or not.... ...as much as I'd love to I don't know if I could part with my banshee(s)....what do you all think?? "As it sits now it has about 30 hrs on it of duning. I have the full Sparks pipe and filter setup with LSR braided brake lines. I have switched to the OEM YZ450 twist throttle(110 dollars) as well as installed a set of CR bend pro-tapers. I also have two sets of tires. The stock dirt tires which have about 1 hour on them in grass and the sand tire setup which is mowhawks and haulers. I have the JD jet kit installed along with a Zip-Ty mixture screw and P-38 accelerator plate and the YZ exhaust cam. Also has an AC grab bar now." :?: :?: :?:  :?: :?: :?:
