got the shee put back together this weekend. I had some port work done that was describe as a drag port for stock carbs. So far shee is running good. I still need to get the jetting dialed in. I is kind of difficult here because of the weather. Any way the question that i have is gearing, I noticed that when i hit 3nd gear it kind of bogs. In 2nd it only spins on asphalt. think that this is jetting or gearing. I have stock gearing currently when tested. I talked the the builder and he said to go to a 15 on the front. and mabe go from 350 to 340. What to you think?

no it look reaily bad. I woundnt have used it in the first place. You would just have to se it.

I finaly got my jugs back from getting a port job. Today i started the reasembly. I started on the rings, as i was taking one of the old rings off i notice what apeared to be a crack. My first reaction was somthing like "WHAT THE FUK". So i take the piston off the rod to inspect it. The pistons are wisco prolites, that had modified window by K&T performance, that were also installed by them in june. After inspecting them it wasent a crack. It was a big ass goudge that was taken out that started at the bottom of the intake window and went down across the skirt. I may not know alot about modifiying pistons or such but i know dam well that K&T fuked this piston up durring the modifying of the window, and installed it any ways not saying anything about it. So Know i need to buy new pistons. My funds are disapering fast. Were is the cheapest place to pick up some .020 over pistons? What makes this even worse is that i just bought a new set of rings for the pistons that i already had. If some one can host a pic i would glandly have it posted so that you can give opions.

Thanks for the offer D34 but i need them by monday. I was just IM by LC Performace saying that my cylinders are ready to go. and he will do the ring gap for me when i pick them up.

were would be a good place to buy new rings? What do they usally cost? I called some of the locals and i am hearing $28-$30 bucks. I called K&T Performance and the said $24 bucks a set. I that a good deal? There for a set of 20 over wisco pistons.

I am trying to get everything ready to put the shee back together. I had new pistons and rings put in it may. the motor only has about 30 hours of ride time on it. Should i rering it before i reassemble it. The juggs have a fresh port on them that havent been ran yet.

Boonman that would be greatly apreciated! I am going to start the reassemble of the shee in the next week or so and still have some other minor parts to get. I am just waiting on the return of my cylinders from LC Performance,getting the stock carb drag port. I am starting to feel like a teenage kid about to get it for the first time!

What type of base gaskets are better to use, a one peice copper, or the stock style? Or what should i use?

Rocky Mountain ATV sell a kicker rebuild kit for 10 bucks.

K&T performance told me that they were not necessary, even with the stock clutch. But know that some on said somthing about clutch chater, Im wondering if that is the same rattle that im hearing that is driving me insane!! It only at idle though, and if it is in "N".

Any one know a good place to get a snow plow for an atv. Here in Utah the run right aroud $400.00-$425.00. any one know were to get one cheaper? Cabels has warns for 369.99 plus shipping but after shipping it is cheaper to get it at the stealership. It would be for a 03 Yamaha Kodiak 450. thanks for any opions. I have thought about relocating the colant bottle on the shee. Currently i have her apart waiting for my juggs than Lynn C.(LC Performance) has doing a stock carb drag port, and want to have her ready when he is finished. I am tired of the colant leaking on my shit black toomeys. Would rerouting the over flow line from the colant bottle give the same affect as relocating the bottle intirely. I realy dont care about the constant leaking on a extream slop down hill. I just dont want it to leak on my pipes. (Dont ever by painted pipes there a pain in the A$$)

Im not sure of the atlitude were your at but i would prob go with 21-20 with out a welded crank. I had about the same mod as you are running on my 02 and twisted a crank with 20s.

I went to one of the local stealerships. Those SOB robbed me blind! I went to pick up some 27.5 pilot jets, I figured not much more than a main. HOLLY $HIT was i wrong. $10.00 ea. $22.62 total. I this normal? What are you guys paying for jets were your from.

Are these pwk carbs, Flat slide, Round sides??

I was installing a tors kit on my carbs last night at work. I put the carb in a vise to hold it while i ground the idle screw thing down. Just as i walked off to get a grinder that SOB fell out of the vise. I can see no damage to it. I check the float hight at it was ok. Now here the OH $hit part. I notice on one of the carb doent have one of the small metal tubes that come out of the carb. The carb with the choke on it has it and the other doest. It looks just like the ones in the float bowl. Some one please tell me that this carb isnt screwed.

deffinatly something wrong there. the slids should start moving at the same time and be insync. Check the cable were it goes from 1 to 2 cables.
